Cotton lycra for pants
I'm planning to get custom-made pants, where I send my own fabric. I'd like a bit more substantial cotton, not T-shirt weight. I would like something that is flattering on my slightly old and chubby body ;-)
I have checked our local JoAnn, which only had light-weight cotton, so it's time to go online. Problem is - what weight of cotton lycra am I looking for? Spandex House and Spandex World have cotton lycra, but is that heavy enough? If not, where can I look?

Yes, they have different weights, if you want I can go for you and ship it to you.
Spandex world is my second home. :)

Can y'all keep the rest of us informed as to weights, etc? I've been having similar thoughts, but unsure I can pull off the sewing part with my machine. Still, I'd like to have a go at it. ... there are not THAT many seams!

Might want to check Joann's again. I was able to score some medium weight cotton lycra from them recently. They did have the super light stuff too (which is awesome and soft but doesn't make for good pants), but I bought fabric stiff enough to make a halter top. They had several colors. Could be that different regions carry different stuff... or that you're looking for something even heavier.

Just got email from Ocean of Ashner clothing/Evergreen Tribal Arts (best pants for my butt/thighs ever!). For heavier pants that are a bit more substantial than Melodias, the cotton weight is 12-14 oz.
