I'm so amazed at how much you put out in a given month. For me it's been about a month and a half and I haven't even finished the trim on the belt of my cab costume.

And now I have to put that aside and start something else for a Tribaret costume I want for a performance coming up at the end of Jan.
You are so sweet! Let me know when you win the lottery!
I actually only put up about 1/8 of all the stuff that gets done.
I don't want to clog the threads =)

Dude, Eshta! You're holding back on us?! We're not worried about you clogging the threads- give up the good stuff!

I don't think any one here minds if you clog the threads with your cossie sparkles..

Thinking the end of Jan or Feb is when I'll be talking to you about the tribaret set you make.

oh yeah the tribaret. I have made about 10 of those so hit me up soon because that's one of the designs I am going to discontinue.

Re: What Are You Working On? December 2009

I have been pondering a few different costume projects for a while and am finally going to be decisive and get them going for real. ..g.:

Project 1: I acquired a silver bra and belt set for a steal and just bought some deep fuchsia fabric to recover it. I have already de-fringed it and will de-sequin it. Then I am going to salvage some of the silver sequins and purchase bunches of sparkly fuchsia and silver beads for it... haven't quite decided on a beading pattern yet but I have some time to think about it while I de-sequin it. I have visions of chunky beads in my head so we'll see how that plays out. (first pic)

Project 2: I got another bra and belt set for a little less of a steal. I was hoping I could just fix it up a little and use it but the more I dig, the more involved it gets. So I am also going to de-sequin this one, recover it in a brilliant aqua blue that compliments the existing beads and sequins, and try to make it look a bit Bella-esque.

Potential Project 3: I got this bra and belt set and should have sent it back. (second pic) The whole thing was rather low quality for what I expected (not bad, just not good) and now I can't decide what to do with it. It doesn't really fit me too well so I will probably either have to deconstruct it (ack! time sink!) or pass it on. I seriously doubt I could sell it as is and get my money back out of it, but perhaps getting any money from it is good. This one is going on the back burner for now, need to get the other two done already!

PS - you all are some very talented people and very inspiring! I hope I can do half as good of a job as many of you!

Maybe Eshta should have a thread of her own? Then we can drool over all her creations and other people also get enough time on the thread.

Yes I really don't want to be a thread clogger. Which is why I only really post pics of things that are done and stayed with me long enough to take pictures. I will try to post more pics of things in process though. Cause it's fun to see the before and after.

Seriously, would you make one thread with some step by step pictures so we can see how you made a costume? I love all the things you make! Really gorgeous!!!

actually I have thought about that. I already teach a coatume workshop so I'll have to stick with that. Step by step is actally not something I can share for free. But I was thinking of making a little $5 pamphlet or something.

What's wrong with the blue in the second picture? I think it's really cute.

I'm betting the cups are wide but shallow and that it squishes the breasts along the nipple line in an unlovable fashion..

Here's an update on the purple stash buster:

I started the bra last night. I used an old strapless bullet bra from my mom and I am covering it in felt, since it is the old school floppy kind. I'm thinking of coating it in spray on fabric stiffener when I am done. It has seemed to work well on other costumes.

ETA: I have to buy a new bra base. This one is too small. I should have checked first. Anyone want 38C bra cups covered in felt?

I finished my silver bra and belt :-)

It was hard to capture the blingness, holoness and the sparkle all at once, so I pictured it in a few kinds of lighting. I'm quite happy with the fit and sparkle. The bra is so fitm that it stays in palace even when you unclasp it.

I love the silver. I've been contemplating doing a basic silver or gold set in a style like this. Just have too much on my costume making plate right now, so I'm wondering what would be better..buying or making. Buying tends to have such a problem with football boob cups.
