Thread: skirt bunching up after adding elastic

i got this gorgeous pink from banatsusan and the day i wore it i was uber paranoid about the skirt falling down even though i added a touch of elastic to it. well i tried to add some more tonight and it's starting to bunch up now :(

any way to prevent that? i really like this costume

I think you may have pulled it in more than the fabric and beading can forgive. Can you try pinning the skirt to a pair of boy shorts for extra security?

The other option might be to try to sew a dart or fold in the skirt somewhere where it won't be noticed. Is there a zipper in the back? If so, you might be able to cross the fabric over there without being too noticeable.

the zipper is on the side. and you're right i think i did pull the fabric a bit too tight. would it be better if i placed smaller pieces of elastic in different parts of the skirt as opposed to one big piece across?

That might work, but I don't know if it would pull it in enough for you. Can you try loosening the elastic a little? Does the fabric bunch when you're wearing it or just when it's off you?

umm both? lol ill try and adjust the elastic sometime this weekend and see what happens. thanks!
