Help making a Moroccan costume
i would like to make a costume like the dancer where in this video, but I'm stuck on how to make the belt. Any ideas?

Oh, I see what it is. A friend of mine has one of those belts. It's made of wool and it has a decoration on the edges. It's not coins, but something else... I cannot describe...

They're mozunas--little silver disks with a center hole. Some vendors sell them loose to make your own costumes, and AI sells a couple of pre-made styles of scarves/belts/ropes (e.g., Ethnic/Tribal accessories--scroll down to see them all). I'm sure other vendors carry them, too.

Yes they are and make a lot of noise! Our troupe director is from Casablanca, and a year ago, when her husband was traveling back to see the family, he's been shopping for the whole troupe and brought back 10 of those belts in diffent colors.

And they are heavier than, for example, the coins on coin belts so they really add a lot a movement when you get going. :)
