Lycra rescue?
Has anyone had any success restoring costumes where the lycra has degraded? I have one at http://www.bhuz.com/forum/australia-...ove-200-a.html
- the lycra has become very thin and lost its stretch (like old swimwear) but the ornamentation is so delightful that it's worth finding a way to rescue the costume!
My suggestion is to start by lining it - and then possibly sew the two layers together around the edge of the sequins, as close as possible, then cut away the top layer. And other ideas out there?

Re: Lycra rescue?
I would make a second skirt and transfer embellishments....the layers and cutting sounds like a pain in the butt.
I have some something like this before
