Help me Save My Dress
I had a bean burrito for lunch yesterday, and when I tried this on last night..it was a no go. Today...after class...I am feeling this dress!!!
Ok...I need some honest opinions. Is this to revealing in the boobage area? I never show this much goods...! How would you change the cut outs, or would you? Is this scandalous? How about changing the mesh color to turquoise, adding a boob dam and some 3/4 sleeves of the same mesh. I have a headband and 2 gauntlets to work with, so I can build uo the hip area to panty height. Does it suit me well enough for all this.... is it too small? Make me feel good...no...just be honest. I can take it.

Don't TOUCH the cutouts - it would be criminal, they look sooo good. In my opinion they make the dress. I don't think the boobage looks scandalous at all - in pic #4 (the almost full length one of you, straight on) they look fab.

Re: Help me Save My Dress
I think the only thing I would do is bring the costume up a little bit more if possible. It looks as though the bra band is too low. If necessary, make straps which go over the shoulders as well as the halter. this will also take some pressure off your neck. The cut outs are fine. If it bothers you, find a body stocking.
And if all else fails, send it to me!

Re: Help me Save My Dress
You should see it in person! The lycra is chocolate, the bead design is paisley and the accents are peacock and amber - all my favorite things. But I really have to do something about the hip area...I am a grandma in a conservative town for Gods sake!

Re: Help me Save My Dress
try shortening the neckstrap and post pics. Right now I'm not sure wether the cups are pn the smal side or the neckstrap is too long. I would not show that amount of cleavage in public, but I'm a bit on the conservative side.

HA! Last night I would have!!! A bout of fat, old and ugly hit me like bad weather. I cant lift the cutouts... makes it too short at the hemline. The bra band is just under the shoulder blades. I could hike up the back of the dress and make it stick to the bra band with a mondo snap.

Re: Help me Save My Dress
From the photos it doesn't look like too much cleavage to me, but if you feel like it's too much, add the headband on top for a boob dam as you suggested. Leave the cutouts alone as suggested. They are hot. If you want to add a little beading to the mesh to disguise the panty line a little more, it wouldn't hurt. Honestly, you look beautiful in it honey, so don't do too much to it.

Re: Help me Save My Dress
The boob dam I was thinking of is a filler of mesh that goes over the whole area..strap to strap and boob to neck. I was thinking if the mesh was less flesh colored...the cutouts would be less shocking. I could add sleeves to the affair while I was at it. So you are now saying "why did she buy this dress if she is going to change it that much" Chocolate peacocks wearing amber jewelry!

Re: Help me Save My Dress
If it were me, I would also feel like showing too much breast. It is not obscene, but I think that more coverage would look better on you. Not sure about the cut-outs, and the idea of turquoise (maybe a bit iridescent/sparkly?) mesh appeals a lot to me. Now, I am more of a prude when it comes to costumes, so take that with a grain of salt.

Re: Help me Save My Dress
I might make a few clusters of appliques to sort of go along the "pantyline" of the side of the mesh cutouts so there was mesh below and above the new appliques but so I could also wear some underwear without feeling stressed.

Re: Help me Save My Dress
Yeah!!! One person likes my plan! I just think if there was less flesh colored fabric and less real 55 year old flesh, the dress would have the same look but be a bit more appropriate to the dancer. I don't mind looking hot ... but I don't want to embarrass 30 year old men into looking at the floor as their Mom shimmies past them....

Re: Help me Save My Dress
Hehe, I also totally dig the idea of more peacock tones or maybe a copper iridescent, instead of flesh, to complement the beading. I love the combination of amber and peacock (I wear a lot of copper with teal/turquoise myself). And, it's not as if colored mesh wouldn't be hot.

Re: Help me Save My Dress
this ^
also: the dress is stunning on you. but you have to feel comfortable with it of course.
what if you:
made a demi-boob-dam out of mesh and covered it with rhinestones and built up rhinestone coverage in the cutouts you feel are too low?
a little reflective light goes a long way in creating the appearance of coverage. i made a demi-boob-dam out of mesh and rhinestones and it worked great. just bedazzle some mesh and tack it between the cups

Re: Help me Save My Dress
Oh, thank God -- you haven't lost your mind after all. This costume was meant for you! I was sad beyond words when you put it back up. If I had seen these pics first, I would have bribed you to keep it!!!!! OK -- really, the only issue is the boobs -- no way to raise the bra, absolutely sure? That's the ONLY issue I can see -- don't know if I can put this into words, but is there a way to add a kind of "shelf" into the costume under your girls to raise them up? Maybe pull up the entire costume by an inch to get a little extra fabric up there? Otherwise, it REALLY is fabulous on you. Seriously. Ozma can help -- can't you, Ozma? Or Estha? The geniuses? Must be a way. And the cut-outs only need a BIT of tweaking. Just a bit. I agree with adding something there--but not covering them up. Put in a wall of Swarovski flatbacks if you need to -- diagonally across the "open" part in a swirl?
..... still thinking .... conjuring ..... I know there are answers out there .....

Anala, the dress is beautiful and it looks great on you! You don't have to do anything. Just enjoy your new costume!
You're very pretty and the colours of the dress go perfectly with your hair, eyes and skin! ,r:;

So...ahhhh...whatcha got???
Seriously, it is so close to perfect! If I lift the girls anymore...I could take a nap on them!!! My nips are 2 inches below my collar bone in this dress when that measurement is normally more like 22 inches!!!!
oh, yeah, and STOP with the burritos
