Thread: Show me your l rose troupe costuming

I'm scheming ideas and would love to see pics of color combos!

Hi Amity, these aren't L Rose (I made them), but shows you one color pallete idea. This was some of the velvet I got from Surida. I made straight skirts, gauntlets and headbands for my troupe, Naya's Trance. The colors look a little weird in the photo, but they're fuscia, orchid and eggplant.

I don't think I have a good still shot, but we went with L. Rose nylon lycra trumpet skirts and gauntlets. I allowed no more than 2 in the same color, and no one could be black! We all wear different bra/belt sets.

It's not as cohesive as same-color sets, but I like that each dancer gets to express her personality, the variety of colors is exciting onstage, and there's a lot for the audience to look at in the details of all the bra/belt sets.

I have some ladies who were concerned about wearing tight fitting skirts, so we went with a satin skirt,vest and fringe belt combo. Every body could pick a color they liked and embellish the belt and a coin bra to taste, as long as the costumes moved the same way. It makes for a very versatile costume that can be used with different music styles. It doesn't look good with Egyptian styling, but you cant have everything!

Thanks Surida. One of the guest dancers who was at the show commented in the dressing room that we looked like candy.

Here's one of our troupe in matching L Rose balady dresses. We liked being able to choose our own colors, but in hindsight it would have been better if we at least went all solid color or all tie-dye.
