    Bellydance store cup sizing

Have you all found that the bras from the bellydance store are accurate to the size they post online? I would hate to be lusting after one that wouldn't fit the girls.

I would still email and ask for specific cup measurments just to be sure. They are willing to do that, Ive had good experience with them.

I would call them. My e-mails always go unanswered for days and days...

    Re: Bellydance store cup sizing

I bought a costume listed as a B and had to sell it because it was more like a D. I also recall somebody on a previous thread had complained that she ordered two skirts, and one was 3 inches too long and the other was 3 inches too short. Then again, I know plenty of people who ordered without a hitch.

I'd also recommend calling for info, rather than e-mailing.

I've ordered from them and have had great experiences. They have always responded quickly to me and were even willing to bargain the prices down. The cup sizes depend on who made the costume. My Mamdouh from them was exactly the cup size specified. The hip sizes are pretty precise too.

    Re: Bellydance store cup sizing

The whole idea of cup sizes is such an inexact science: I bought a costume there that was labeled as a D - I'd call it a smallish 34D, but given that I wear a 36C (and could get away with a 38 in an emergency), I didn't think it was "a D for me". BUT, I would not say the size was wrong, it's just that these letter cup sizes are terribly ambiguous.

in my experience the underbust is what makes a difference for me...i wear a 34A/32b in regular bra i can pad up to a C cup as long as the under bust is small no bigger than a 32/33... one time, before i knew better, i got a B cup but the under bust was up to 40in
i would say it was definitely more suitable for a C or small d....
in my own fault i never returned it because i loved it so much, and it is still in my project bin to this day :O)

bellydancestore gives the messurement on the side, is written from the dressmakers inside. So some mistakes there. I bought a dress from Sahar, it was labeled as A-Cup...impossible for me, because I`m 36D. They have messure it again and have seen the mistake. Now the dress is my....smile.

    Re: Bellydance store cup sizing

They have girls working there of all cup sizes and DO measure against true sizes. As SteffiB says though; American cup sizes are ambiguous. A B cup on a ribcage that measures 38 inches is going to have a totally different shape/spread then a B cup on a ribcage that measures 30 inches.
Adding on to that- the Egyptian designers do not all always make back straps that "make sense" with the width of the cups.
Calling is the best bet when possible. They get loads of emails. I can't imagine trying to keep up with it all.
