Color Combo Help...Part 2
I didn't want to hyjack Anala's thread but her posting gave me the courage to ask. I bought a used Pharaonics bra/belt set about eight years ago. It's a tomato/fire engine red, more orangey then ruby red. It's quite unique because it's crocheted on a hard base with tiny gold beads and tiny gold fringe. I want to get an L Rose trumpet skirt but I'm not sure what color. I'm afraid red would be too much red but I'm not sure what else would work.
Suggestions would be greatly appreciated!Last edited by rassicahl; 12-27-2009 at 03:07 PM. Reason: Attempted to add picshttp://s722.photobucket.com/albums/ww226/Rassicahl/Pharaonics%20Red%20Bra%20and%20Belt/

do you have a picture of the costume? I would say orange might be a good color to pair with it, but it helps to see the red you're gonna pair it with.

Yeah must see pics! Otherwise I'd say go with white to make the red/orange stand out.

From the description, I'd choose a gold skirt.

I'd consider a slightly darker, coordinating shade of red (if that is available, of course - it's hard to recommend a shade w/o a picture), to make the costume's features pop a little bit more than a perfect mach would do.

My first thought was burgundy, but it really depends on how much contrast you like in your costumes and what colors you like to wear. In addition to gold and white, a dark forest green (almost black), black, or the right pink or purple could also look good. I've really helped you narrow it down, huh? :)

Oh yeah... a dark (maybe plum) purple might look good with it too.

Twiligh burgundy is the LRose swatch I'd order/try.

Orange and red look really good together on stage. You could get several swatches from L Rose. If you are daring, get a red trumpet skirt w/ orange chiffon "modesty" panel for the slit. Get gauntlets or draped arm bands to tie it all together
