    bronzer recommendations?

    hi everyone,
i got a gift card to sephora for christmas and i'm in need of a new bronzer.
i have no idea what to get, and i dont have a sephora that close to me to go check it out (i can go, but trips to sephora and mac are special trips).
do you ladies have any recommendations? i have more of an olive skin tone...but my skin isn't exactly like typical Caucasian skin tones... i'm attaching a picture of moi for everyone to analyze lol. thanks in advance

*i'm the one in the silver top. the girl in the blue is an arab (in case you need a comparison of skin tones)

Nars makes a beautiful bronzing powder called Laguna. I like it because it's brownish (not orangey!) and has only a minimal amount of shimmer instead of the usual full-blown glitter craziness that a lot of bronzers have.

    hi satin,
i was looking at nars laguna also, but i wasnt sure if it was worth it. does it last long and how does it react with sweat? i'm probably going to use bronzer mostly when i perform. i use it mostly like a blush. i'm not a fan of pinkish blush/bronzers for my skin.

My sister bought me the trio set of Too Face bronzers a while back and I've been happy with the Sun Bunny shade for stage. It is matte unlike the other two in there and stays put. The Nars one looks nice too.

I find that it lasts long, assuming that you have a proper base of primer/foundation/powder on underneath

I think it depends what you are using it for - personally I like the Too Faced ones that are not wholly brown, but have a touch of pink which is nice if you are not using a blush also. Personally, I feel that a pop of color on the cheekbones looks really pretty with bronzer, and I always use a highlight also for luminosity, but the shimmery too faced ones have bronzer, shimmer and a touch of highlight in one which is cool if you are in a rush or not comfortable with buying/using a ton of products. I get a ton of compliments on my cheeks but they will possibly be too much for some people during the day.

Mac bronzer and Nars bronzers also get raves, they have a bit of shimmer, but not as much as the Too Faced ones. Another brand that is renowned for making fabulous bronzers in all different varieties is Guerlain. They regularly win Cosmo/InStyle/Allure awards for best bronzer.

If you are going to use your bronzer to contour, you'd need a matte one - I had a Chanel one I used to use, but when that ran out I moved on to a Mac Contour/Highlighter duo.

hmmm i took a risk and ordered laguna from nars. too faced looked nice too. i really want to avoid any pinky undertones. i tend to get flushed when dancing anyways. i dont want to look too flushed :)
