Hip scarf help...HELP!
So some of you have seen the peacock dress I have been working on. I plan on using it for a competition in January (yes, just around the corner). The sash I was attempting to make is just not working and now I don't think that I have time to try a fresh attempt and get the choreo down. Anyone have any suggestions seen one online that you think would fit? It will be for the stage and I don't want it to look to amature you know? It also can't be too long cause of the decoration in the back. I have a pink one on in the pic but I am not crazy about it. HELP!

Re: Hip scarf help...HELP!
It just isn't coming out the way I envisioned and I am so angry with it now that I don't even want to look at it. I think I had an idea that was just never formed enough to be a reality. Oh, it isn't the one in the picture, that is just one that I owned already and used on the fly for one performance....
The idea was that I would have a black scarf on the black dress with pailettes for movement and color. As I understand it, colored ones cut me off in the middle and make me look shorter and wider..... whatda think?

Peacock shawl in black lifted and sewn on one side so the triangle is not so low? Some longish hank fringe sewn in accent points around the body. Wider is not bad!!!Last edited by anala; 12-29-2009 at 03:38 PM.

NOT the pink. Look for something in the same colours as the peacock decoration. Myself, I would look at a narrow belt with the peacock design on it (if you have time to make one) or possibly even one of those sequin shawls in greens/blues (hell, try two twisted together). They can look fab.

Re: Hip scarf help...HELP!
if you can find a beaded dress or top such as a stereotypical grandma might wear from the thrift store you could turn it into a belt or shawl. a friend of mine found one in those colors, maybe there's a sequin top or dress or something you can cut up?
