Girls,
As a reply to the thread below, I just saw Mamdouh's website is available again, after having been unavailable for a while! ,r:;

Here's the link:

And don't forget to check it out often, because there's a new collection every 30 days! ..g.:

What is the difference between the gallery and collection photos? Looks like there is a yellow Pharoanics labyrinth in the gallery.

Oh gosh, I don't like the picture layout at all. I won't be returning there.

music suddenly playing when you click a link is a very good way to lose customers. won't be going back.

That dancer wearing the Pharonics labyrinth looks really familiar! The photo caption says "Mariyah" - is that bhuzzer and NY dancer Mariyah?!?!?

Re: Mamdouh Salama's website is back!
While I was in Egypt earlier this month, I was able to browse through Mamdouh's work. After awhile, they all started to look the same. There's definitely a 'trademark' look....
and a word of warning, they do A LOT of hotglueing... not the heat set rhinestones. I actually saw them use hot glue guns.

I love mamdouhs... they are so comfy, but I hate the way he makes the bras! I always have to alter the bra and find innovative ways to shorten the super long skirts.

Re: Mamdouh Salama's website is back!
Oriental Moon was the name for the company driven and financed by Fady and Dalia.
Mamdouh thought they might do better having the compnay in his name as people tend to know the designers rather than the name like Golden Lotus...Eman Zaki etc.
They are distinctive but the glue thing is a problem I agree. The best thing for me is the comfort of the costumes and I especially love the bras.
His designs generally cater for the exceptionally slim types of this world but they are extremely current in terms of fashion. Prior to Oriental Moon, Mamdouh was an unknown designer who made costumes for Belly dancers in Haram and local nightclubs.
I know they have been undergoing many changes etc. in the last 6 months or so.
A word of advice, it was cheaper to order costumes through the Oriental Moon Website (although it has closed I think) rather than through Mamdouh himself. Fady is very reasonable about prices, you can choose the costume you want and contact the email below.
Fady and Dalia's email is orientalmooncairo@yahoo.com

Re: Mamdouh Salama's website is back!
I agree, I bought 1 costume from Mamdouh. It was a nice idea....but the work was terrible. It was impossible to make the bra fit, everywhere the glue, bad stitching....
I made the whole bra new an used a psrt of the costumes fabric and some other I have had and also have dons a lot on the skirt, made new gloves....made the costume really new.
Never again I will buy a costume from Mamdouh!
Best regards
Salima

Re: Mamdouh Salama's website is back!
The bra cups are set so far apart. My smaller sized boobs don't fit well in any of them without displaying things I don't want to display. I had to alter my last mamdouh (very difficult considering the cups are made of plastic like material) by cutting out the middle bit and moving the cups together. It fit and looked pretty good after that!

Re: Mamdouh Salama's website is back!
Wow... that website is awful! I bought mine from the belly dance store when it was on sale... I really don't like the "gallery" on mamdouh's site.
My costume is COVERED in rhinestones, but they are all hot glued on which makes me nervous that they will fall off. A few of the plastic ones did the first time I danced in it, but I haven't seen any fall off since. The rest seems pretty sturdy.

That website drove me bonkers within 30 seconds!!!!
I am such a website snob now because my new site is almost done and it is awesome awesome awesome. I can't wait to share it with you guys. And I gotta agree with dinah - lots of hot glue! But really cute fabric.

Re: Mamdouh Salama's website is back!
The bras are one of the best things for me. Just my luck although with the other costume I got all coy and added a frill to the cleavage.
It looks to me like a lot of bras ..and not just Mamdouh's...are designed with the implanted girl in mind.
Whatever I felt very secure in those Mamdouh's and at my age......g.:..if a bra makes you feel secure...you're secure.

Re: Mamdouh Salama's website is back!
I have never personally had a more comfortable and 'uplifting' bra! ..g.:
I love them and definately feel they are the appeal with these costumes.
The photo I showed of the troupe are all different shapes and sizes as you can see.

Re: Mamdouh Salama's website is back!
I have to agree with Eshta, I do really like the fabrics and the way Mamdouh uses them. The way fabric is arranged on my Mamdouh is really neat and adds layers to the costume.
