Dressing your shape/size as a dancer with these new costumes...
Is it just me or are the newer costumes coming out lately only fit one body type of dancer?
I live in fear of making costuming fax paux's based on my body type...Last edited by RaqOn; 01-01-2010 at 04:37 PM.

Actually as a larger than your average dancer I like the new style costumes. I find the sleeker less fringey look more flattering and less bulky. I can't do splits in skirts but thats easy i put godets in. You just have to try a few there are costumes now to suit all shapes and sizes-like there has always been.

The "Dina" style bra is a no go for me and it seems to be popping up everywhere.

I f*cking hate those Dina bras. Hate 'em, hate 'em, hate 'em. They don't flatter my tiny ta-tas and narrow ribcage. My busty friends don't seem to like them. And it takes hours of aggravation to get the damned things not to gap. They only seem to look good and feel secure on such a small range of body types.
As for straight Lycra skirts? Love 'em!
I just wish there was a bit more variety out there. Egyptian minimalism was nice for awhile, but it's not always practical when most of your audiences are American and expect bling.

I feel like I'm way too skinny and flat-chested for most costumes, especially the ones that are trendy right now.
I think bellas would flatter me, but I cant afford them :) So I guess I'll have to create my own style!

They require less fabric.... Dinah bra, not in the remainder of this lifetime. Talk about your 3 dimensional oozage.

I love Dina bras. But I guess that is just me. I've got big boobs that are really far apart, so as long as I get the right cup size they are great.

Plus size gal here and I don't think that they understand that just making them bigger doesn't cut it.
The sleek look I like on smaller dancers but God does it show off everything I try to hide! And I don't have alot of space between my girls so those styles just don't work on me.

I think Hannan does a good job catering to the large ladies, but she's about the only one I can think of.

far from a seamstress, but it seems as if that could be addressed by building up the sides? the band i mean, where it connects to the cups? I find that the Dina bra's actually (and deceptively) offer substantial coverage over the front of the boobage, at least on the hanan's that I have, and are like armor.

Yasser also makes really nice, chunky sets that work well on bustier ladies.

I enjoy that there IS variety right now.
Eman still makes some more traditional cups, even with lycra skirts. But I love her Dina cups.
Pharaonics still has traditional cups and is coming out with more lycra skirt styles.
I think there is more variety now than ever. Maybe sometimes we notice more the style we want with the wrong bra shape for US. ,f::
