Thread: Another great bra for costume making

I'm a huge fan of the strapless bra from Walmart for making bras. My turquoise vintage inspired costume is made from one. I have found another good one at Target. It's made by Gilligan & O'Malley and is called a Push-up Plung Strapless Bra. The cups have an excellent shape and are nice and firm for costume purposes.

My Punch you in the Face Pink costume is made from it. Here's a pic:

Did you have to get a cup size up in these? Oh and do they come in big sizes?

I didn't get a cup size up. I got my regular bra size, which is a C cup. I didn't look to see what other sizes they came in, but next time you're at Target, it might be worth a look. I often find it's harder to get these hard cup padded bras in the larger sizes.

Pretty costume. Is that assiut fabric?

Largest size I saw online was D but more might be in the stores.

I worked for Target for a few years in the lingerie department. They generally do not carry larger sizes in bras like that. Their larger sizes are reserved for like Playtex and Just my size or some other plus size carrier.

However, Gilligan & O'Malley is not exclusively sold in Target stores. I'd see if there is a website or other distributors for that brand. Just a suggestion.

I used to use the Target Gilligan & O'Malley bras but then my boobs grew and I can't find any that fit there any more. I have several costumes I made from them that I can still squeeze into and they do make excellent bases if you can find one in your size.

No, it was just pink lycra with a gold metallic print. I got it from Surida. Wait 'till you see the finished product. In that photo, the bra wasn't done yet.

I use the target gillian o malley bras too! I get the same as my regular cup size and they still work with the beading.

Target has very limited choices for D and up, if they have any at all (mine doesn't carry anything over a C). Walmart does tho. I love those Walmart ones as well.

Yes, I've used the Walmart bra's for my D cup costume customers. They work wonderfully. I was just excited to find another good one that provides a different shape. Too bad it sounds like you can't find them over a C cup.
