Thread: What Do You Put On Your Punam?

Have you ever considered what exactly you put on your face (punam: pretty/cute face) on a daily basis?

List the products you apply to your face before you head out the door or before you start your day at least 5 days a week. If you have skin issues, this could help you get to the bottom of it...

I'll start.

4 products:
-Cetaphil 50 SPF Full Spectrum Sunscreen Moisturizer
-DHC Velvet Skin Coat
-MAC emollient concealer
-MAC Studio Sculpt foundation

Thanks for teaching me a new word! Before I opened the thread, I was expecting another bikini waxing discussion. Oops

On a daily basis, I use:

1. Alba sea mineral facial cleansing gel
2. MyChelle fruit enzyme mist toner (or rosewater)
3. Rachel Perry cucumber/calendula oil-free moisturizer w/SPF 15 (day), and Avalon Organics Vitamin C Revitalizing Oil-Free moisturizer (night)
4. Bare Minerals foundation if I'm going out, bare face if I'm staying in

For stage and photography:

1. Make Up Forever HD primer
2. MUFE HD foundation
3. MUFE Super Matte Loose Powder

I had to click on this thread to find out what a Punam was.

I use 3 products in the am:
1.) Aveda Purifying Creme Cleanser
2.) Olay ProX Eye Restoration Complex
3.) Olay ProX Age Repair Lotion w/SPF 30

"Face" is NOT what came to mind when you said "punam".

Apple Cider Vinegar cleanser
Aspirin toner
Neutrogena Sheer Defense or something like that spf
primer (sometimes)
Liquid foundation, something I mixed up from a bunch (sometimes)
Mineral powder foundation
Blush or bronzer (sometimes)

You have NO idea what I thought this thread was about.

..l;, I didnt know what a "punam" was either. I didnt think it was my face though.......

My first thought was that it was a puma from Vietnam. Then my mind headed for the gutter.......w.:

Merle Norman face scrub for normal/dry skin
Merle Norman moisturizer
Merle Norman foundation

These are the only things that don't make my face break out.

1. shea butter or dr. bronners soap (unscented baby bar)
2. raw coconut oil
3. bare minerals face powder
4. for stage: a bunch of irritating, synthetic, clogging makeup
5. a good retinoid to combat the inevitables of time and gravity

Heh -- I had a similar reaction -- looks like so did a few others...g.:

For me its an ever-evolving process, but the two things I unfailingly put on my face every day are:
1) Toner: right now using the water from one of those Toner Tab things from Lush, but most often use the aloe vera freshener made by Body Time.
2) Moisturizer with SPF. Change brands all the time; right now have almong-aloe moistureizer with SPF 15 by EarthScience.

Besides that, there is always a bit of blush (at present, Jane Iredale's golden apricot), plus mineral makeup if I feel like it (but often don't).

For me the one constant is moisturizer, (brand varies) and bare minerals, light or fairly light 1.2, oh, and chapstick (the black wrapper chapstick) level of other makeup varies according to my scheduled day.

i use clinique's 3 step treatment (face wash, exfoliator/toner, and moisturizer). and burt's bees lip balm. i never wear foundation or powder unless it's a special occasion. even then, i'll just use bronzer (if i remember)

I use:
1) Burts Bees Natural Acne Solutions Purifying Gel Cleanser
2) BenzaClin® Topical Gel
3) Aveeno Positively Radiant Tinted Moisturizer SPF 30
3) Physicians Formula Mineral Wear® Talc-Free Mineral Face Powder

A LOT. I wear quite heavy makeup haha. If we're just talking face makeup products, I use:

Kiehls moisturizer
Revlon Colorstay foundation
Coty translucent powder
Physician's Formula bronzer
blush varies day to day
Highlighting powder

and don't even get me started on the rest of my morning ~toilette~ if you will. I've got it down to a science.

Water. If I remember, I moisturize or use Borghese Anti-Aging serum (from Costco)... I'm lazy..w.:

1) Cetaphil cleanser
2) Sephora tinted moisturizer SPF 15
3) Bare Minerals mineral veil

At night I use Retin A after cleansing with Cetaphil

Daily:
MAC Green Gel Cleanser
Nutrogena Sensative Skin Moisturizer (with SPF 15 in the summer)

If I am going to wear make-up, the next thing is MAC Studio FX foundation.

Sometimes in the evening I use a face cream with rose oil in it from Sobotanical (sobotanical.com) - this stuff makes the skin SO SO SO soft!

Yes, could be the Hebrew but I was thinking the Yiddish punam.

Hmm...cleanser varies.
But on a daily basis I mix
Clarins hydration creme spf 15 with
Lorac hydrating foundation (also spf 15).

...and eyebrow filler! lol

If my skin is really dehydrated I'll prep with Clarins hydrating serum.

If I'm wearing makeup - blush, eye shadows and liners are all MAC. I use a loose translucent powder by.... I forget. It's a really nice lightweight one.

Ok, just for laughs, I have to share what I did all through high school:

Cleanser: Old-fashioned Neutrogena
Exfoliant: Sea kelp
Moisturizer: Cod liver oil

And then I wondered why no one wanted to hang out with me! ;p

Nowadays I use:
DHC cleansers (various)
DHC Acerola Gel
Aloe Vera (from a plant by the sink)
Prescription Zinc sunblock, mixed with a little liquid foundation if I'm leaving the yard.

If it's a regular day, i.e. no face to face meetings, Ivory soap, Ocean Potion Anti-Aging moisturizer with SPF 30, Retinal, Vit. A, C & E.

If I have meetings, I add powder, also with SPF in it.

The one thing I am currently lacking is a good eye serum. Which, according to my facialist, is really the only thing which makes a difference whether or not it's top of the line.

At night I use Ivory soap and Ponds. If I am wearing heavy make up, I will use Ponds exfoliating make up wipes. But generally for exfoliation, I just use a rough wash cloth.

Before bed, these days, Trilogy organic rosehip oil and/or Trilogy CoQ10 booster capsules/ oldfashioned Nivea creme.

This is for most days (work days). If I'm going more casual, I may skip concealer/foundation, but will wear eyeliner, mascara, blush and lip gloss.

Funny - I never heard of "punam!"

On a daily basis, I use a cream cleanser, then a firming moisturizer, then a light foundation followed by cream blush (in winter, powder in summer). Then I use a different muted eye shadow in the crease, some liner, mascara and lipstick. During the day I use soft colors.

For performing, just triple everything, and add some liquid eyeliner and some Eye Kandy!
