Covering bras without darts
Just starting to cover a new bra. Wasn't there a thread somewhere about how to cover a bra without making darts along the cup?
Can someone point me in the right direction?

If your fabric is soft enough, you can often drape it into shape. I once covered an entire (small cap) bra with one piece of silk charmeuse.. including the center.. Actually took longer than doing it in two or three pieces, but I was challenging myself.

Re: Covering bras without darts
The easiest way I found was just to overlap the fabric on the lower half of the cup, and sew it down... is that hard to visualize? Unfortunately I didnt' take detailed pictures when I was documenting my "making a costume bra" project years ago, sorry! the photos jump from ugly uncovered bra to completely covered with nice fabric! lol

I have DD cups. All my darts were over the top. I planned most of my decorations over the top of the cups, and it worked fine. HTH

I took lots of pictures. This is my first bra, but it hasn't come apart yet. I made it in April and wore it.6 or 7 times, as it's my only costume.

BurdaStyle has a free pattern for a bra with seamed cups. There are multiple versions online--I just grabbed the first one. Green and blue lace lingerie set #6 – Sewing Patterns | BurdaStyle.com I haven't tried it, so I can't guarantee it works.
