Thread: Where to get real or faux assuit?

I've got a costuming wild hair and think I'd like some bright/hot pink assuit - if it exists. The real deal may be outside my budget (I've seen it can be pricey for small pieces) so maybe a good quality faux assuit?

It's going to be used for a base.

I don't know of a source for faux assuit, but real assuit can be dyed with Procion dyes. At least the antique assuit can; it is made of cotton and I've done it several times. I'm assuming the new assuit is made of cotton too and could also be dyed.

I've been looking for some stretchy faux assuit too... I want to make a dress out of it.

I got a lovely piece of orange assuit from Scheherezade Imports at the Belly Dance Nationals last year. The price was a bit lower than Dahlal. Scheherezade Imports. Not seeing it on the website, but I know Lucy has some.

There was an eBay seller with nice assuit, but he doesn't seem to have any listed now. I got a really nice assuit dress from him.
