Thread: Adding to the bra cup?

Hi! Just bought a gorgeous costume from Aura and the bra cup is a wee bit small-- anyone know how to add fabric or something to extend the cup in a way that matches the whole thing? The costume is otherwise perfect but there is a little bit of the girls sticking out of the bottom, or billowing over the top depending on where I push them.

I've seen people harvest the fabric from headbands and arm covers to sew on the top of cups.

I once made a top for a woman, and the cuts were too small, so I added an inch of heavily interfaced fabric to the top edge and decorated it as it was one piece. (I folded the fabric over, so the fold was on the top edge leaving the top nice and it was twice as stiff.)

Pleat some fabric so it is prettily ruched and add to the edge. Example here:

See the satin fabric that is sort of gathered and comes from the bottom of the cups, up the sides, and then is the shoulder straps? Picture that on top of the cups, sewn to the underside. You could actually be able to fan the fabric out and upward then for more coverage, or squish it toward the cups for a little less.
