Thread: HELP!!!! Haven't been able to sell.. Should I cut up, do something else with it??? Opinions?

Okay, so I've had this up for a while now, and it just has not sold; I'm not going to wear ir as a costume. I like the skirt, b/c really I could wear the skirt out. So I was thinking of using the top to cover a bra and basically make a bra/skirt combo costume. then add fringe since I'm not a coin person.

Any thoughts?? suggestions? I need help ladies?
I left the measurements & pics up so you can see it.

Skirt, 3/4 slip - L 28-37" (71 cen to 94 cent) (due to the points), W 29" (74 cent) unstretched, approx 34" (86 cent) stretched
Top - lined, very versatile, I've worn this as is, and have also picked up the middle so that it looked almost like a bra, strechy fabric.
Length (shoulder to end of fabric) 11" (28 cen )with coins 15" (38 cen)
Across wide - unstretched 32" (81 cen), stretched approx 40" (101 cen)

I might be inclined to keep around it for Renn Faires, art festivals and any other outdoor events where your finest Bella bling just ain't practical. Sometimes, I kick myself for not having a little "business casual" outfit like this!

I like it with the center-front pinched in like a bra.

I agree with Satin. It's very cute.

I think it would work as a bra sans coins. Or even just sans coins, nice little practice top or somesuch.

Well I'm going to be Devil's advocate and say, I really like the coin trim and wouldn't take it off. I do like the top look much better with the center pinch.

I have tried ebay, it's up now for it's 3rd run. First time no bids, second time bids but didn't meet reserve price, third time, maybe a charm?

Agreed. It's a more graceful look with the pinch.

grumble, I have 1 day and a few hours left on ebay with 6 watchers, I even asked a friend who's a seamstress and she agreed to keep it.

i like the top on you, looks good with the pinch but am not a coin/fringe person. maybe some colours could help... like a big bright flower where the pinch is and also on the the side of the skirt ... if you're into gypsy ;)

Center front pinch has my vote. The skirt is very pretty, & I agree that it is a nice covered-look set. The top would have more pow & look less mass-produced if you took the fringe that hangs down and gathered it up (like pinching in fact) evenly spaced around the bottom in scallops or swags.

It's super cute, especially with the pinch, but as a fairly short person myself I wouldn't take a second look at something with that heavy horizontal fringe line across the upper stomach so that may be part of why it's slow to sell.

I say yank the fringe.

Thanks ladies. Honestly, I really do not see myself ever wearing this as a costume again, not when I have too many nicer ones. I even have a few nice one's that aren't great quality, so this one just sits.

So on had ebay I had 6 watchers, but no bids ,f:: this time around. maybe ending it on a football Sunday wasn't a great idea. anyway, not sure what I'll do with the shirt but maybe I can use the skirt as an over skirt to a gold/bronze costume I have.
