Thread: Bella Custom Taxes and Fees?

Long time lurker here but I'm pretty active over at Oriental Dancer as Maria Harlequin! *waves* And since the population of Bella-owners here is pretty big, I have a question...

I placed an order for a Bella about two weeks back and it's currently in production right now *excited!* but I was wondering how many of you Bella owners had to pay a nightmarish amount for custom taxes? I know the usual limit for not paying custom fees in the States is no more than $200 and $100 for Thailand and a Bella goes for far more than that. Thai customs is incredibly finicky and inconsistent - I've only been taxed twice out of the hundreds of packages I've ordered over the years and I've even had a few over $100 packages and costumes delivered without paying taxes (Although I did have friends that ended up paying $35 in taxes for a $5 used children's bicycle helmet). But what about an expensive Bella costume? Mine's going to be around $900 - $1000 and I DO NOT want to suddenly get taxed for that...i might end up paying around $100 - $300 in taxes if they do suddenly decide to tax me.

I know it may not be the most ethical thing in the world but is there a chance that Bella will not put the full amount on the customs slip if you ask her to do so? I'd hate to have to pay another $300 for my costume!
