Blue skin
So I am trying to figure out how to temp get my skin blue without having it stay blue for two weeks, I want to find somethat that i would use all over my body expect where my clothes would be, even if i put it under my clothes i wouldnt mine, but I dont want to use that messy halloween type paint that it it tries gets everywhere and afterwards cracks looks horrible(plus fells horrible, very heavy), the only other thing of was using manic panic(semi-perm hair dye with no bad side effects/natural) all over my body but that would take a long time to get out of my skin. One of my friends in bellydance class knew of something but couldnt think of the name for it or where to get it and said to get on here and ask. So any thoughts on how to get my skin blue?

Re: Blue skin
Why, may I ask, do you need blue skin? Avatar-inspired fusion? ..l;,
In all seriousness, I'd try to find out what type of product professional body painters use. Manic Panic could produce catastrophic results, i.e. people singing the Smurfs jingle every time you walk by, for a week or so .w.:

Re: Blue skin
Here's a basic primer on body paint that I found:
How to Use Body Paint
I'm the farthest thing from an expert on the subject, but I would definitely imagine that you'd want a paint rather than something that stains the skin like Manic Panic. And absolutely make sure that the paint is specifically made for use on the body - I really wouldn't trust all the chemicals in craft store acrylic paint!

Re: Blue skin
There is also theatre make-up that you can use, but I got it at a costume shop in Atlanta - it was in a cake shaped container, much like regular make-up powder. I can't remeber the name for the life of me ,f:: I was painted as a snow leopard and had covered almost my entire body with make-up. I will see if I can find the name online...

You should have tried My New Green Button, from the makers of the fine labia enhancing product, My New Pink Button!
(Sorry, I'm still amused by the vagazzling thread.)

Re: Blue skin
Mehron works well for stage body make-up. It washes off easily, and it comes in different colors. I've used both their liquid (Order Liquid Makeup for Face, Body & Hair professional performance makeup for face painting made by Mehron the leader in performance makeup since 1927) and the F-X make-up (Fantasy F-X™ Makeup (Water Based)).

Re: Blue skin
You can also see if any of your local airbrush artists can do it for you. For two different occasions I was fully painted - once by hand and once air-brushed. I highly recommend the airbrushing method. :)

Re: Blue skin
Hey, I'm the green girl from Facebook!!
I was green for 12 shows and 2 dress rehearsals of The Klingon Christmas Carol this past holiday season. I was an Orion Slave Girl from Star Trek.
I used Paradise AQ makeup by Ben Nye. Its a waterbased cake of makeup thats a semi-moist cake that you add water to with a large synthetic brush. I'd recommend getting a cheapie one at Michael's or some sort of craft store, since you'll basically be ruining it for anything else. My trick was to be very well exfoliated, and freshly showered before applying. No lotion! Wet the brush, then swirl it into the makeup. Then paint that bit onto wherever(arms are easiest to start with) and then use your other hand to rub it in like lotion until its blended. If it dries before you've blended it, add a little water to your hand you are blending with and it will re-activate and allow you to blend again. You'll need a few rounds to practice, but it gets easier and easier over time. The chest and face are extra tricky, as they have more oil on them. I actually had to prep them with rubbing alcohol right before applying or else it would streak like crazy.
It will rub off a little bit on the inside of anything you wear, just so you know. If you wanna set it to stay for a long time, use Ben Nye Final Seal setting spray. I only used that under my arms, and make sure you don't lower your arms until its all the way dried after spraying!!
here's a photo of me(and my castmates):

Re: Blue skin
Liquid latex! You can get it at sex shops, sometimes, or costuming shops.

Vampiretype, I'm glad you made it to Bhuz. I'm sorry I couldn't help you out at class, but I'm glad that there are some good suggestions here.
That green makeup for the Orion Slave Girl is very cool!
