Thread: Gaging Interest... Sell?

I've had a pretty rough month financially, so I need to sell a few things in order to try to get ahead.

I LOVE this Mamdouh Salama, but it is too long for my anyway (as I dance barefoot and not in heels at 5'5" tall) at 42" long. I was thinking about taking the top of the skirt up a bit where it meets the lycra, but I think I'm going to sell it instead as I need the money... so I'm gaging interest here.

I've never had the chance to dance in this one. I bought it brand new. Would like to sell it for about $500.00 and couldn't go much lower.

Here are pics. I'll post measurements later, but until then, I'm a size B (plenty of room for C in this bra though), 38" high hip, 42" low hip. It has a slit and built in shorts.

Also wondering if there are any opinions/ideas toward sewing up the skirt.

it looks wonderful on you. you could bring the skirt up under that scarf looking part.

The costume is beautiful--I remember seeing it go up on the BDS site. Sending good wishes that things will improve and you can keep it, or that it will sell quickly if you need to. Hugs ....

I would suggest altering it unless you get a buyer quickly. The economy is hitting the swap meet hard and many costumes in the 400$-up ranges just aren't moving...even brand new designer stuff.

you can fold it up under the "overskirt" part and make tiny invisible stitches so it works for you, but don't cut it! Try and sell it on the swap first if you are not a sewing person, or ebay. It's a lovely color!

Yeah, I was thinking about folding it and sewing it, because there are stones on both the stretch part and the skirt where the lycra meets it. I think I'm going to pin it up tonight and see how it would look like that. I do have a charity gig on sat... the day before valentines day!

Decided to keep it! I'm getting a bigger tax return than I thought, so I can afford to keep it. Yay! I sewed up the slit just 3" and am going to hem the chiffon up under the lycra. It's going to be difficult doing that though... there is a row of hot glued stones that are on both the lycra and chiffon where they meet. I'll post pics when done... prob this weekend.
