Thread: Costume question

I have gained weight and because if this I don't like to show as much skin. So, I'm wearing belly covers and costumes with more coverage and more dresses. I have a birthday party gig this weekend and I'm wondering if I wear a dress will it look weird? I have a stunning Eman dress. It's a gorgeous burnout velvet with a separate belt and feathers on the cups. Here's a pic;



What do you think? Can I wear this to a party gig? or should I wear a bedlah with a belly cover?

i think the gp will still recognize this as 'bellydancer'. normal people don't have feathered boobs! ..l;,

I've seen this in person - it's a knockout, Mahira. And with your usual fun personality and awesome dancing, this gig will be a complete yowzaaa!

Both are nice but with very different feel to them (not more or less bellydance) IMO. I can't keep my eyes off that gorgeous veil- where did you get it?

I bought it off of the swap board. idk where it was from originally.

I know what that feels like..feeling a little wiggly and uncomfy in the face of weightgain, but I have to say that you DO look amazing in both costumes. That dress is to die for, so unique. Both definitely feel "belly dancer".

I think that you look really beautiful in both, but I especially love the dress! I don't think it would be weird at all- it reads "belly dancer" and it's a knockout dress! I think you should wear the one you think will help you feel confident and excited- you'll look beautiful in either. (But wear the dress- I LOVE the dress!)

I have to agree with Banatsusan, they are both gorgeous but for a GP birthday party it's got to be the bright coloured bedlah...

2 beautiful costumes. I've worn a dress once in restuarant and once at a party - the same I wore at a recent show - and both times no-one questioned it's not being a belly dance costume. However you look lovely in the two-piece and it is lovely and bright so for a party why not. I've seen that Eman desgn dress on another dancer and it's just fabulous but being darker, I 'd agree the two piece.

I love your Eman dress - I have this as a two piece, feathers and all!
