Talk to me about clip on hair!!!!
I bought a revlon clip on hair fall (pony) type thing. I wanted to order a different type on line but couldn't figure out the color.
This is what I bought at Sally's Beauty Supply = Revlon QuickClip 2 Shag in "Frosted". It's a longish wavy ponytail and matches pretty well.
Is there some sort of chart that tells you what color that might be in another brand? I am interested in finding some of the smaller clip ins to add volume. I looked at the Jessica Simpson ones but they are wayyy $$$$ for me.
What do you like for clip on hair? What do you find you use/wear the most? When would you avoid clip on hair? I'm worried it will look fake from 5' or closer......
Thank you!

Re: Talk to me about clip on hair!!!!
The keys to making a clip on pony look "real" are matching it to your hair color (or dying your hair to match the pony), and hiding the plastic claw clips. My hair is super thin and fine, so I usually put a scrunchie over the pony, so the clip is hidden beneath the scrunchie. A soft scarf works well, too.
Most of my clip ons came from various Ebay vendors. Most of the vendors have color charts on their store sites.

Re: Talk to me about clip on hair!!!!
I use hair falls all the time whether it be clip on or 3/4 falls. Personally I usually find a vendor that supplies a bunch of different styles I like and once I am familiar with thier colors its easy to order! Most of the time online stores will let you "rent" the hair swatch wheel for a small fee as long as you return it. You can also visit a local wig store, they usually carry the different brands of color charts. Then you can try it out and wrtie down what vendors colors work for you.
Even if the color is slightly off (minimally) you can mask it by having something visually seperate your real hair and the fall. Like a headband or a rhinestone clip/barette at the base of the ponytail!
Good luck and have fun!

Re: Talk to me about clip on hair!!!!
I like to clip in various shades of my own natural color so it just looks like I dyed my hair..and for fun I'll add a pink or blue streak
I've noticed no matter how well I brush them, they need a good brushing again after any set. They get tangled really easy. But mine are strong, just a clip and I don't use bobby pins..I flip my hair a lot and they stay in.
