glue for flat back plastic "stones" for skirt?

I have a circle skirt and some inexpensive (cheap) rhinestones from Joanne's that I would like to apply for a little bling....

Does Aleen's Jewel-It hold well? These are not large stones...smaller than an American dime.

    Thank you!

I normally an not a fan of using glue but think it will be ok in this situation....

I just asked the same question a while ago - recommendation was to simply go straight to E6000.

I recently glued (plastic) rhinestones with a special rhinestone glue on burnt-out velvet, and one fell off when I hang the garment - which may be operator error, of course ;-)

Yep, that's exactly it, E6000. It's good stuff. One big problem I have: things tend to goop up, the cap is hard to properly put on after use, and then you have that annoying dry-out of an almost full tube of magic glue and you need pliers to remove the cap, too. Drives me crazy!

When I use glue, nail polish, etc I always apply Vaseline to the threads as soon as I open the factory seal. Easy to open for at least 10 times, then apply more Vaseline. If I notice a bit of build-up of the product and the Vaseline I use nail polish remover to clean the area and apply more Vaseline.

Showtime, thank you for sharing that tip!!! I have also wasted much E6000, practically assume every time I use it I'll need a new tube, and the stuff is not cheap, I never thought to use vaseline.

Glad my tidbits might be helpful. Another similar application - if you use craft paints or small jars of paint (ceramics, auto touch-up paints, etc), Vaseline can be useful.

This is often considered strange but I have a RX bottle with a small dab of E6000 in it, several toothpicksare held to the bottle with several toothpicks. All are kept in 2 zip-seal bags in my dance bag. If a stone falls off an earring or out of a setting on a costume I can quickly handle the situation prior to possibly losing the stone.

Showtime, that's a good tip for saving glue. I'll have to try that out next time.

Lylagus, could you do a little beading around the gemstones to help hold them down too?

I'll see how much time and $ i want to invest in the project. I'm trying to bling up a 3 panel circle skirt. It has a large floral pattern and I bought some smallish stones for a different project that i'm no longer doing so I thought i'd add them to the skirt .....
