Thread: Figure skating Cleopatra

Miki Ando (JAP) wore this in the free program @ the Olympics. Make it a long skirt and it would make an adorable costume. If only I could make costumes ;)

I watched Miki Ando perform on tv and was awed by the interesting costume she wore.

wow! my chest can pull off the big collared necklace thingie, but that sure is a beautiful costume!

Not only was her costume beautiful, but so was her skate. Plus her music was from the HBO mini-series "Rome" mixed with Marco Polo by Loreena McKinnett. So she had a total ME package.

Me- she's going to do Cleopatra. She needs more makeup. looks like Pharonics, could it be? oh, but, wait, whuh? Hey, a cleavage cover! Why didn't I think of this before? Several of the costumes could easily be ME dance costumes with longer skirts. And I liked the fact that they were built on body stockings which shows how you can be covered and not at the same time.

One of the skaters was wearing a costume that reminded me of a Sahar.

I thought the costume was lovely (although I would've done her make-up differently), and I thought she skated beautifully! Really, really nice. Loved her music- it was a great package!

I loved to see it! The costume was fabulous as was the skater! Like most of them I was imagining how I could make it work for our dance! ;-) THey weer all gorgeous!

When I saw that last night I thought of you all. I loved the music and found myself dancing along on my couch.

I liked the costume but she skated like she was half-dead.. wasn't surprised she didn't score higher.

What I was struck by was that there was at least 3 egyptian-y costumes on display, including the one worn by the Bronze medalist. I suppose its more interesting than watching 50 different Carmens skate! I counted two of those ;)

The gold medalist Kin Yun Na skated beautifully. I'm so glad she won.

Just caught up with the skating on TIVO, and love love love that Egyptian costume!
