Prescriptives went T.U. now I need a good liquid foundation
I use Everyday minerals for a foundation, but during the winter my skin is drying out and the mineral make up is not helping. especially under my eyes! (eek)
I need a new brand of liquid foundation, what are your faves?
I need something with moderate coverage....

This might sound silly but have you tried simply moisturising and hydrating more? I have very dry skin and am using a mineral powder after years of refusing to; if I'm moisturised enough underneath it's fine. Mind you I don't apply it very thickly.

I regularly hear that Chanel vitalumiere is one of the best on the Market for dry skin. I use teint innocence instead though, both liquid and creme version in the compact as I prefer a lighter finish. However, I'd try to tacle your underlying dryness also - my skin went super dry as a stress reaction last year and no foundation would blend with my skin at all but I managed to control it using a glycolic cleanser from mario badescu, hydrating serum from Vichy and an amazing korres mask, plus making an effort to drink lots of water.

Re: Prescriptives went T.U. now I need a good liquid foundation
I use the Diorskin Nude Hydrating Makeup. I love it's lightweight feel and the flawless looking coverage it gives to my skin. I find I get a very even application by applying with a foundation brush. I have heard good things about Shiseido's Dual Balancing Liquid Foundation, but have not tried it---might want to look into that one too.
I might also add, to look into a moisturizer for your skin-type as well...if you don't already have one. It will help keep your skin protected and soft. And you will find your foundation will wear better thoughout the day.... Foundations alone cannot do the job of a good moisturizer. Good luck on your search!..g.:Last edited by Love_Bellydance; 02-28-2010 at 04:33 PM.

I have been using Pixi. You can get it at Target. I use the cream foundation which glides smoothly on, contains vitamins, no animal testing, built in sunscreen, anti-aging ingredients. I use the fingers of my freshly washed hands instead of the makeup sponge that is included with it. They also have a wonderful tinted moisturizer that includes a little stick of concealer in the cap. Very handy.

My skin is actually on the oily side. The mineral make up has been fine until the last month when it's been so cold and dry. I do use dermicoligica for eye and face moisturizing day and night.
Yep, that's what I meant ..l;,
How do you test stuff on your skin at Target? I always get home and the colors look so wrong when it's actually on my face intead of the bottle.

Target has testers in all the shades with a mirror, applicators, and makeup remover sheets to take it off. Pixi has a lot of great products at Target--gel cheek stain, concealer wheels, eye shadows, gel mascara and eye liner (I wouldn't test those though.)
BTW, Prescriptives can be purchased online and my local dept. store still has a Prescriptives counter.

My Target doesn't have any of those luxuries either
And when I went online for Prescriptives they only had a very limited inventory left.
Azhia where are you to weigh in here?

Oh wow, I used to buy a lot of Prescriptives, especially lipstick. I guess I'll also have to do a hunt for their "Illusion" liquid powder at Macys or wherever else in San Anto that still has counters :(

I loved the Magic Liquid Powder, too. Others I've found that are comparable in performance (but without that lovely cooling feeling..cr.:): bareEscentuals Illuminating Mineral Veil (I like the Tinted one), Make Up For Ever HD Powder and MAC Prep + Prime Transparent Finishing Powder.
If you like Prescriptives' color-matching, a great company to go for is Three Custom Color Specialists. Love 3CC's stuff!

I love Prescriptives lipsticks. My favorite shade is Vixen, a fox red. Oh well, must find substitute I guess.

wow, really prescriptives went out of business. It took my forever to finally try it, and I will never go back to a liquid. Tyr moisterizing a little more, maybe you are dehydrated?
For mineral foundation I actually use Smooth Minerals by Avon. Avon Shop - Products
to order online, you can register and order through my Avon rep ..l;, and it will come directly to you in th email.
AVON Representative JOAN'NA TYBURSKI serving the Nutley, NJ area
For liquid, I always have liked Visibly Even by Neutrrogena, SPF 20; ideal shade, SFP 10 by Avon is also good Avon Shop - Products.
women's - Neutrogena they also have minerals now too, but I haven't used them yet.

Hi sweety!
The be-e-e-e-st: Ultra Foundation, Face Atelier
For any skin type. It's in my kit, never go to any gig w/o it. Silicone is ideal for all skin types and buffs wonderfully with a kabuki brush after applying with a foundation brush. I believe they have samples you can send for.
