Beledi dresses
Hi All,
My next piece is going to be a baladi progession and I would love to get a new beledi dress. I have a teal velvet L Rose, but the color doesn't suit me.
I'm thinking that this one is really nice:

I also was thinking of getting an L Rose dress made with this:

I would get the trumpet skirt with slit and with the special fabric it would end up costing the same.
OR I could just wait a couple more months to save up for a custom Hanan dress that I picked out.
What do you think? I know I always ask for advice, but I am the kind of person who likes to explore all possible options before making decisions. It's the Gemini cusp in me. ..g.:
Also, if you want to post any of your awesome dresses and where you got them. Feel free! I would love to see more more L. Rose, specifically.

Re: Beledi dresses
Off the top of my head, if the teal doesn't suit you, the green you have picked out probably won't either. At least from what is showing on my monitor, it looks very teal - esque.
I like the dress you have picked out via the Belly Dance Store. At $125 it's a good deal and will probably go a long way. And it's a great colour.
I don't have a beledi dress like this or L.Rose. Mine are def. Cab style. Although I am waiting for a bunch of fabric which I have literally inherited from my Great Aunt. I have been told that there is lurex and some assuit in the mix which will become at least one beledi dress.

Re: Beledi dresses
Eshta is making one for me right now (which I have in my hot hands for a fitting at the moment, it will be hard to send it back). It is styled kind of like the BD store one. I love the fit! Mine is chocolate brown and gold. I paid a bit more for mine but I got to be more picky about the details and threw down some extra money for extra bling. I don't know if you have a deadline you need it by but it is an option. There is a pic of the basic on her custom costume thread.

I like that pink dress, gorgeous colour, good price as well. I am sure one would get quite a bit of use out of such a dress, the neckline decoration is different and nice as well

Re: Beledi dresses
i don't like the L Rose color you picked out. I think you would be lovely in turquoise, the above pink, a real red do you have any emerald green cossies? I'm trying to picture it on you.
No murky dark colors

Re: Beledi dresses
I like the pink dress better than the teal color, only because it's really bright and screams HAPPY DANCE to me. :)
I have 2 beledi dresses currently in my wardrobe:
you can't see the front, but this one has a v-neck and no other decoration because of the design on the dress

this is my other "beledi" dress, but it's a bit more blingy so not limited to folklore (imho anyway). you can't really see in this photo, but the nude mesh has hot fix rows of swarovskis in a champagne, blue and teal-ish color:

Hey! I'm sorry for the delay -- my e-mail was down. It's back now. Off to take a look. Thanks for the "first refusal" option. xo

Re: Beledi dresses
I have three of those sparkly Hannan baladi/saidi dresses in different colors and I love them. Easy to wear, comfy, sparkly yet folksy too.
