Testing waters..... Pink Flamingo.... c/d cup, should I keep?

    Dancer in Crisis...
I got the fabulously girly and sparkly Pink Flamingo costume from Eshta. The bra is fantastic - the cups are even a touch big. But the skirt is just not right on me. ,f:: I CAN make it work for me, but with some work, and I don't really have the time or extra cash to do so right now. I just don't know what to do. I know my troupe loves it, and thinks it will be great once some things are adjusted to my shape.
So I don't know what I want to do now. Is anyone interested?

That's so pretty. Do you have a picture of the skirt?

Well, mostly I've had 2 kids and things have ... um... lowered a little..w.: So the hip accents are just too high on me and now accentuate the less than desirable *ugh can't believe I'm going to say it...* "Saddle bags". ..c::

Also, I've just learned that belts with skirts look better on me.

Maybe I'm just over-reacting because I'm having other dance and work related crises.

I'll think about it and collect opinions today.
I'll definitely keep you in mind if/when I decide to pass it on. ..g.:

I absolutely adore that costume! I've been having to sit on my hands every time I look at it so that I don't write Eshta and commission her to make me one, lol! I have too much pink!!!!

Would it be possible to see the skirt on you? That way we would have a better idea of what's bothering you about it, and also give you honest opinions on whether it should be yay or nay on the selling...

Lol. and this is the only pink I have right now. ..l;,

I tried to get pics of it on me earlier, and with lighting/mirror availability, it's even worse than it is in person. EVERYONE would tell me to sell, without a doubt. I'm going to try it on again later, and I'll have the hubby take hopefully a good pic when he gets home from work. The kids can't help.

hmmmmm ok everyone look at it and see if it would benefit from more fringe around the hips. Might help to balance it. Like loops etc.. Cause I can add that easily. I think you were on the fence about that skirt from the beginning right?

I loved it so much on you I ordered one in blue and green, so yes you look great! Would a belly net make you feel better?

I'm going to chime in, because I've seen the skirt on Salsa. Let me preface by saying that she is HAWT! And this costume is FABULOUS! OMG- it's beautiful!!! But on her frame, the 2 fabric hip accents that go across are too high. It accentuates the wrong part of her hips. I don't think fringe would help- it might even make it worse, because it would bring more attention. It simply doesn't draw the eye to the right place on her body. A belly net wouldn't help, because her belly isn't the issue. What would be ideal is a 3rd matching fabric piece to be added- it would bring the hip accents to the right part of the hip for Salsa. Unfortunately, IIRC, Eshta didn't have any more of the fabric to add another one. The 2nd one could be moved down if there was a little more fabric to add, but again- no extra.

The costume is stunning, and I think it would be fabulous as-is on perhaps a smaller frame. Salsa is statuesque, and as such, is a little long through the hip to have such high hip accents. That's just my opinion. Gorgeous girl, gorgeous costume, but as-is, not gorgeous enough together.

It's hard without an on-body picture...but if where the line hits her is too high, I agree that that line should not be accented with fringe...and that fringe elsewhere probably wouldn't help. It'd be an attempt at distraction but wouldn't solve the problem.

If it needs a third accent to balance it...would it make sense to ask Eshta or someone to get a fabric in a very similar hue, or lighter to match the lighter tones in the fabric...move the current "bottom" accent lower...and place the new fabric as a new center accent (and perhaps work the fabric in a tiiiiiiny bit in the bra)...in a way that wouldn't look too disruptive?

I still wouldn't want to complicate the design with fringe. I think it would take away from the impact of the feathers.

Ok. I tried to post before, but my internet connection fell apart twice... So My hubby, who never comments on any of my costumes, really likes this one, so I'm just going to HAVE to make it work for me.

I'm going to get a pic taken and as much as I don't like how I look right now.... I'll post it, and I'll welcome all suggestions.

    Thanks in advance....

I really hope you can make it work, sweetie! Your bow one is SO fantastic on you (did I mention how fabulous you were at the hafla? Yowzers!) I hope this one can be made to look that amazing on you, too! Bhuzzers are brilliant- I know someone will come up with the perfect plan!
