    Question Matching sequins --- HELP!

Help! I need some matching sequins for the Airport special I am redoing.

I've purchased sequins from JoAnnes (Darice brand), Cartwright and Berger

The Darice ones are the closest, but they don't have 6mm, which is what I need. Any other ideas of where I can find sequins. It's hard on the interwebz, but I've shopped at all the usual suspects in the area and haven't been able to find much. This may be a lost cause. ..cr.:

Try Ebay, Andalee. I've purchased sequins off their site before when I've needed smaller quantities than what Cartwright's sells. I can't recall the vendors I've used, but just do a search for "gold 6mm sequins" and you should find some.

Anyone know if using sequins on a roll is workable? I usually buy loose sequins. What are the pros and cons to each.

Thanks to both you you for your help! I just bought some from ebay for $5.

Are the sequins on your bra cupped or flat? I can't ever recall seeing cupped sequins on a roll. I think the major disadvantage is that the addition to your bra won't match the existing part because of the spacing of the sequins on the roll. As much as it is time consuming, putting them on one at a time will look better and last longer.

They're cupped. I was thinking of pulling the sequins off and not just sewing the trim on.

Ozma's current red bead project inspired this possibility. Can you add a few rows of bugle beads? then add the sequins? It might give you enough of a color break so no one would notice the different gold.

Yes, I was thinking of doing that with the blue beads I got. This is going to be a gold costume with blue chunkies when I am done with it. Very similar to Ozma's orange.

Sounds like you already have a plan for this cossie, but I was going to suggest using silver sequins for the extension and then perhaps adding silver accents to the belt. Then you would have a bedlah that matches everything.

Now I've got mismatched sequins from MJ Trim and I am hoping the ones I bought off of ebay will work. If not, I give up. I will buy blue-iris sequins to match the chunky color scheme.

So now that I have all of these GOLD sequins of different sizes and colors, what can I do with them? Do you think a crazy gold bedlah would be neat? Maybe I can buy an assortment of silver sequins and do something really crazy!

If you put ALLL the sequins in a bowl, and mixed them up and used them randomly, it might look intentional, instead of mismatched?

Or do the design motifs in one gold (on it's side) and the flat/fill in another gold.

    Re: Matching sequins --- HELP!

Hopefully you have what you need now, but if not, try UK eBay, especially if you are trying to match sequins on a costume made in the Middle East. I needed 9mm cupped sequins for an Egyptian-made galibeya, which I couldn't find from any US supplier. UK ebay had them, though, and the price even after shipping wasn't bad.
