Thread: how to attach body stocking for terrible sewer?

I have a black bedlah and I purchased a beautiful black stocking to attach to the bra, however, i am a terrible sewer! I don't like the way the straps look, so that is not an option. I read the diagram on sugar petals, but that scares me. I am afraid I will ruin something. I took the costume/body stocking to a local alterations person and she seems squeamish as well. She asked me to bring in a diagram or something to help her understand better how to attach it. Is there any other way to attach it to the bra besides hooks and eyes? Also, is there a detailed diagram/instructions anywhere else on the web besides the little one on sugar petals? I wish I could sew because I am afraid this seamstress might mess something up. i heard some say they use buttons. maybe this would be a safer way to go??? someone help! thanks!!!!

You could do it the old fashioned way by attaching it with little handmade stitches. But that would be if it was to be attached permanently. Is that what you want to do?

You could use snaps instead of hooks and eyes.

i guess i could do small stitches--would the snaps be a better option for the seamstress since she seems like the hooks and eyes are unfamiliar to her?

How do you get in and out of the bra/stocking combo if they are stitched together? Trying to picture it, I guess you could step into it but a lot would depend on the strap configuration of the bra.
