Talk to me about "Dina-style" cups....
Do you like them? I am used to the traditional cups on Pharonics and Bella's. I am thinking about buying a costume which has the smaller roundish cups with more space between the cups. I'll find a photo. Just wondering how they work for larger (c) cup sizes.
Any info is helpful ..g.:

Re: Talk to me about "Dina-style" cups....
They are way better for me, as long as the cups aren't too far apart. I have a really small ribcage with a larger cup size so get the volume I need from the cup without unnecessary width which is unflattering on my frame.

Oh, and I need the width :) But my underbust is only 32" but I'm a full C which starts under my armpit!

i have a friend that won't wear anything else anymore (except her beloved bellas, lol)! she's built like you... a tiny frame with a full c cup, too!
if you have facebook, here's a pic of one of her newest acquisitions to go with a choreo that hubby gave her... Login | Facebook ... it's a very 'drama'tic piece.

Re: Talk to me about "Dina-style" cups....
I love them! None of mine have alot of space inbetween...just more than normal b.d. bras. I'm a 32 around but a full C too... and they look awesome! there's no pointy triangle boob like some pharonics and I have nice cleavage and they really hold me in and look nice.. I never have gapping when doing backbends or anything like w/ some of the triangular bra-shapes. Mine are perfect- round & full w/ the right amount of cleavage.. nothing too sexy or bulgy.

I own one costume with a dina style bra and it's very comfortable and flattering. I have a 31 inch ribcage and a C-small D cup.
What helps is that the underbust strap has stretch to it, so it makes it a lot easier to feel secure without being restricted.

I am a 32F in real life. I love these. I got one at Eman Zakis in Cairo. Mine had no padding in it at all and it takes pounds off me because the girls actually go in it and unlike a lot of bras they are actually breast shaped. The bras have to be a good fit but thats always the case.

Wow, really??? I'm the same size, and when I look at those bras, I can't imagine wearing one! I keep imagining that they'd have no support, and that it would look like I was wearing pasties! It's good to know that the style really can work for DD+ women, though. I expect it's still pretty unlikely that I'd get one: I'd have to have it custom-made, I think, and I can't afford that.

I almost exclusively wear Dina style bras. They provide a lot less coverage for sure, personally I love my boobs sticking out so im cool with it.

Re: Talk to me about "Dina-style" cups....
I think it depends on the overall design of the costume (the straight line under the bust is so severe) AND your particular proportions. The few that I've tried on looked silly on me, I think due to my wide shoulders and long torso (I have an extra inch for my height). However, many look super cute on Kitty (BD Store model).

So what company makes costumes with Dina style bras? I don't think I've heard of that before.

Thanks for that clarification...I'll hafta check 'em out. I wear a 34D and have a small ribcage...this sounds like a perfect solution.

Re: Talk to me about "Dina-style" cups....
I should have added, im a 34-36 D. As long as the straps are tight enough to keep the girls from jiggling around too much I dont think it looks bad. I think there are a lot of people who dont fit their bras right, especially ladies with big hoohoos.
And as for the too sexy factor... as belly dancers in America I feel like we are always hyper sensitive about being confused with strippers but its good to remember that people associate a sexy curvy body with belly dancers in a good way, nice boobage is kind of expected as part of the look. Like I said, as long as they aren't falling out I think it looks fine.
All just my opinion.

Im pretty sure Sahar Okasha was the one who really started mass producing the Dina style bra (thus why Dina mad them famous). Anyone want to confirm or deny??
Anyway, if you have a bigger cup size and want a Dina style bra you cant go wrong with a Sahar, her bras provide incredible support, look amazing, and are sooo comfy!

These are ok for the young lovelies, I think they are hideous on older dancers (like moi), when I see "Dina-style bra" listed on Swap, I don't even bother to look at it.

Re: Talk to me about "Dina-style" cups....
I agree, I am a 36D - DD, and I love Dina style bras. I feel like this is my mantra whenever the Dina cups come up, where a lot of posters are like "But I have natural boobs! Or big boobs! I can't wear these!" and I'm like, "No way! They look great!"
Ladies with larger cups, really, give the Dina bra a try. If you can try on a dina bra costume, do it and see what you think. You still might not like it, but you might be surprised. I find them more secure than regular bras.

Jewels, if you think you want to try one, you ought to buy a costume you like with the Dina bra from the bellydancestore. They are great about taking returns if it doesn't suit you. Plus, I bet they can help you choose the right one for your frame. I have found them to be very helpful there.

Re: Talk to me about "Dina-style" cups....
Well, there's a big festival coming up in my town in 2 weeks. I'll hopefully be able to try one then. It always scares me when the cup size is an inch or so smaller than I am used to in the regular bras so I haven't bought one yet. But it's a good idea to buy one at the bdstore too. Thanks everyone ;)

I ADORE them!!!! I think they are very flattering and I do have natural boobs! And yes, measurements of the cups are smaller than other bras, but the fit is different-I don't feel overly exposed or anything;)

Re: Talk to me about "Dina-style" cups....
I have two costumes with "Dina-style" cups and love them! I was hesitant at first because I tend to be more on the modest side, but after trying one on, I was hooked and realized they don't show much more than a normal bra if you get the correct size (unlike Dina).
I had to play around with the halter strap attachment a bit to help the cups hug closer to me.

So you can buy these on various websites, they're not just made by one particular designer? When you guys mention "bellydancestore" is that the name of the website, too? (Sorry, I googled Dina cups but didn't see a website to browse styles & such).
