I have a costume I made that I call my Samia Gamal (not based on any particular costume but inspired by) that is ....wait for it....black and silver! haha!

Oooooh?!?!?! That's my weak point, I'm not so good at sewing with chiffon ... So can't wait till you post some pics!

Oh and dear Eshta... I have a question about the belt: Obviously it close on the front, but... there is a looped pear design right in the middle. So won't that thing be in the way when you want to open/close the thing??? .w.:,f::

Or maybe that pearl loop is only pined on the inside lining after the belt is closed? Or maybe they sew the whole thing directly on her, it's cinema after all! ..l;,..l;,..l;,

The costume is okay but that cover up is AWESOME!! Mmmmmm inspiration!!!

Just goes to show...you could turn up to dance in a costume like that and no one realise the design was 50+ years old!

Oh God, I especially love that belt/skirt configuration - my favorite!

That costume is beyond beautiful - it's heavenly! And in the costume before, I liked how Samia's hennaed hair matched her costume. But it was the seafoam costume that takes first prize.

Oh Yeah! I LOVE the cover-up and all three costumes are gorgeous! The turquoise costume is especially nice :)))

I don't know but I bet they sewed her into it Qamar. Remeber back then stretchy fabric was non-existent.

I would also guess sewn in. There is a small seam down the front. Chances are that if this was one of her "real" costumes, there would have been a medallion in the front.
