Thread: Pharaonix Shiny Skirt/Wing Sets - What are they like?

What do people think of these:

Does anyone have experience (or pictures) of them in performance?

I am suddenly in need of a purple-hued full skirt with two front slits for a performance in about two weeks, so I am paging through bellydancestore.biz. This looks like an interesting option but I'm just not sure because the fabric looks a little chintzy in the photos.

these are short wings without any rods, right? So more like a cape?

Yes indeed they are more like a wingy-cape. lol.
I LIKE the fabric. It's iridescence might be making it look funny in the pictures. I feel the fabric is typical pharaonics quality, which is good. Actually I love the look of the skirt and wings- something about it looks retro to me. I'm pretty sure they come with a chiffon underskirt as the pleated material is quite sheer.

That might be perfect (retro look) because I am looking to do a Souhair Zaki tribute in whatever skirt I find.

I like the set. It does come with an underskirt and the fabric is the same as most isis wings but with added beading. I've been considering picking it up in another color as well

Beautiful! I peeked at your whole set, and it's truly awesome - love those shots of the fan veils in motion! You've inspired me to dig out my set (and your DVDs) and get practicing!

Mahsati - LOVE the way it looks on you. It was nice to see it on a different type of body. I was wondering what it would look like on someone with hips like mine.

So it arrived. Unfortunately the skirt material is very fragile and it ripped a bit - I wonder if I can just tack it back on easily. Hope so!

The iridescent purple looks great with an Iris Great Loop.

The wings are more like a cape - there's no space for rods - so it's more like the classic capes you see on the dancers of yore. It's short and easy to manage. It's also beaded, which surprised me. I'm debating whether to use them or not in my souhair zaki tribute piece.

No pics yet as I injured myself but hopefully some in a few weeks if I'm better for my next show.
