Tube mascara recommendations
I know there's been a post on this, but I can't find it. I'm looking for recs on a tube mascara--I want one that both lengthens and curls. I've been using Fiberwig--it's great, but it doesn't really curl. I'm running out, so I'm wondering if anyone else has some recommendations on ones I should try.

Re: Tube mascara recommendations
I have tried too faced lash injection, which I've been told is a tube - it may be worth a try. I don't love it though, prefer Diorshow + primer.
The other one I hear talked about is by Blinc. I don't have personal experience of that brand, so I'd suggest you check out the reviews on Makeupalley - Street Smart Beauty - Homepage

Re: Tube mascara recommendations
I tried Blinc, I don't feel like it really lengthens much. It does stay on well, though.
I haven't found one that curls. But my lashes do hold a curl well with the tube mascaras!
My very favorite at the moment is a drugstore brand -- I think it's L'Oreal? It's called 'double extend' you put the white stuff on first, which I think builds the tubes, then the black. It lengthens like CRAZY, if I put lots of white stuff on I can make it look almost like falsies.
I also tried Stilletto (don't remember who makes it) it did not live up to my expectations at ALL.
I like Fiberwig a lot, it's not really a tube mascara but has similar qualities (stays on til you pull it off with warm water)

I tried the Stiletto too (it's from Maybelline). It's fine for everyday, but not for stage. It didn't do any more for me than Great Lash, which is my usual everyday mascara.

Re: Tube mascara recommendations
I used to use Double Extend... didn't like it, didn't hate it. Of course, I often skipped the white part... maybe that'd make a difference. Is Stiletto a tube?
I'm looking for day use. On stage I use falsies. The reason I'm looking for tube is because I feel it comes off better w/o leaving black smears on my towels. Plus, it doesn't seem to flake like other mascara's do. d

Re: Tube mascara recommendations
Oh I love Double Extend, and yes, the white makes the difference!
I like that it holds pretty well and yet comes off with warm water and a towel. Regular mascara was always the worst to remove for me, nothing made it come off completely in one night!

Re: Tube mascara recommendations
Okay, I guess I'm confused...c:: What do you all mean by "tube" mascara? I read the thread title & thought, "Don't the majority of mascaras come in a tube?"..l;, (I'm sure there are probably those that come in cake/pot form & are applied with a separate brush?). But it seems like you're talking about something else??
I generally don't use a lot of makeup (only for special occasions) & can only afford that of the Maybelline/Cover Girl variety. So please enlighten me.,r:;Last edited by Chayliana; 04-16-2010 at 09:44 PM.

Re: Tube mascara recommendations
Tube mascara is kinda like little gloves for your eyelashes - each eyelash becomes encapsulated in a "tube".
When you wash it off, you can see the tubes, which is kind of weird at first.

Re: Tube mascara recommendations
My mascara of choice is also the L'Oreal double extend. It does a fantastic job.
If you like the kind of mascara that comes off in tubes, Kevyn Aucoin makes a good one.

I've been using Voluminous by L'Oreal for about 17 years and it's the best I've ever used. Now they have volumizing ones that lengthen up to 10 times as much! I haven't tried that yet but I've been happy with just the 3 times volumizing for all this time.

Re: Tube mascara recommendations
Aveda makes a tube mascara too. That's the only one I've tried. I like Aveda overall because their products are generally a little more earth-responsible than other manufacturers. My health is #1 so I'm willing to pay a little bit more for the safest and the best ingredients.
For everyday, I use a health food store kind but I've used the Aveda tube mascara for special days.

Re: Tube mascara recommendations
I tried it, it was ok. Nothing mind blowing, but it did the job and stayed put. Taking it off was difficult though, and I was exhausted so I went to bed with mascara on. Following day I removed it with only a soft, wet washcloth.
