    New Products to Love!

    Many are new to me...

WISPS!!! A colleague/close friend of mine introduced me to these amazing breath savers! Think: no more icky mouth before or after shows! [warning: annoying music]

ZOMG! Make Up Forever Aqua Eyes 25 Year Anniversary Collection. No. More. Powdered eye shadow for me. Applies beautifully, blends and spreads like a dream, colors to die for. The 5-pencil kit is still available at Sephora I believe.

The bomb, the bomb, THE BOMB:
Make Up Forever HD Liquid Foundation. 'nuff said. I also picked up the concealer. Both are featherweight, VERY good coverage and perfect color matches. When this green-skinned girl can find foundation that matches, I am fortunate, indeed.

NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil. "Sex Machine" is particularly lovely.

Monistat Anti-Chafing Gel. FINALLY finally got my hands on this stuff. I am going to have to buy some clear dispensers so clients don't see me pulling this out of my kit. This texture is exactly right and works very well. Go git yerself some!

the anti-chafing gel excuse my ignorance is that what someone might use to rub onto body parts ie thighs to keep from rubbing together & chafing?

That is correct! Same exact ingredients in this $7 tube as a $20 bottle of Smashbox primer.

ahhh cool. not sure where you are located, but twice i did the weekend to end breast cancer walk 60k walk & back then i was 83 lbs heavier felt like everything rubbed together. anyways i went to a store call 'the running room' & they also have an anti-chafing product that is like a stick that one rolls on. looks like a deodrant tube. it's called body glide & i found that worked really well.

I have used this stuff for anti-chafing. It's also fairly cheap.

    Re: New Products to Love!

I treated myself the Makeup Forever foundation on a whim recently - and it is a winner, I really like it a lot. I tried to color-match myself, but let the Sephora gal talk me out of my choice, and that was good. Even better, the MF undereye concealer (which I believe is different from the concealer) is fabulous for my heavy dark circles and wrinkles - highly recommended! Most importantly, it does not look caked on and does not crease.

But, nobody can talk me out of my miraculous apricot-colored Smashbox Photofinish under it ;-) That stuff works, I will not mess with that. It is worth its price for me, even if there are much more economical and interesting alternatives.

I never seem to have time to go to NY to visit him , I had to make it one of my new year resolution for 2010.
I realised last week or so that you moved back to the US for good, I hope everything is going well for you there.

    HD stuff.
I heard that the Make up forever HD powder is good to camouflage big pores.
is the powder worth it ?
I have a gift card so I will get the HD foundation and will have $$ for a little more.

Haven't made the move yet. I'm currently in MD, but we moved to Toronto. When you go to NYC, let me know, I'll meet up with you there! ;0)
I haven't used the HD powder. For the pore situation, if you use minerals, buff clockwise and counterclockwise with a kabuki brush. If you use regular foundation, prime with silicone first, apply foundation, then buff clockwise and counterclockwise with a kabuki brush.

Just wanted to revive this thread to say I finally found the Monistat Anti-Chafing Gel. I'm wearing it for the first time today and it is AWESOME! I managed to find it at Wal-Mart. They had two tubes, both in battered boxes that looked like they had been through a hurricane and a war zone. Keep your eye out if you haven't been able to find it yet. It's worth the wait!

I've been using the anti-chafing gel for quite a while now. Beats paying several times more for Smashbox Photofinish. I saved an small eye gel plastic container, cleaned it out well and squirted the anti-chafing gel into it for my stage makeup kit. I use it daily under my foundation. Makes your foundation glide on and you use less of it.

For foundation, I recently bought Cover FX from Sephora and it does a nice job with full coverage of my ancient acne scars and rosacea. Still like Max Factor Pan Stick for stage makeup but it isn't made any more.

New product--the lash explosion mascara with round applicator brush. It really, really does the trick. Really!

New to me is the Devita Daily Solar Protective Moisturizer. I love it. In fact, I've been loving this whole line since I bought the aloe cleanser on whim a few months ago. Skin very happy.

The other fabulous thing about this daily sunscreen moisturizer is that it's really high up on the EGW sunscreen ratings for high effectiveness and low toxicity.

Ooh, this sounds promising! This fellow green-skinned girl ought to take a look! I like the color of the mineral foundation I've been using, but I wouldn't mind some better coverage. I sometimes look blah by the end of the day, with the stuff I have now.

I've been using HD everything for over a year and won't use anything else. The primer is so smooth (after briefly switching to BeneFit's primer, I've come crying back to my HD!), the foundation is lightweight with beautiful coverage, and the powder sets everything to such a perfect finish. Even when I dance outdoors in 95-degree temps and 85% humidity, my makeup still looks fab! Plus, it doesn't clog my pores.

I'm normally a big MAC fan, but I like the HD line better than anything I've tried from MAC.

Get it at Sephora! That's where I buy mine, and I haven't seen it anywhere else that I know of. I'm pretty sure there's a Sephora in the Florida Mall

Please forgive me if this is supposed to be for makeup only, but...I'm so, so, so-so-SO Happy with my new Instyler (straightener/curler w/rotating heated barrel) for my unruly hair!! Not since I got my Chi straightener have I been so satisfied with a hair appliance! Just like the dvd & infomercials claim, very easy to use, saves time and my hair is super-soft!!!
