"Enchantment" by Pharaonics?
Has any one with *ahem* a large chest danced in one of these stops? I love the look but I'm not so sure about the dance-ability. Pics? Videos?

Re: "Enchantment" by Pharaonics?
My avatar picture is a modified Pharaonics Enchantment. I tried it on when Dahlal was vending, loved it (everything EXCEPT the strap placement), brought it to one of my seamstresses and had it changed into a regular halter. It became one of my absolute favorite costumes for several years (recently sold it on Bhu because I lost too much weight to have it still fit well). Very flattering belt, and once the strap was "fixed" (in my opinion), it was flattering, uplifting, and VERY supportive. I was a 36D in the picture, and also wore that bra as a 36DD (both pregnant and not). I miss that costume- I'd love to buy it back, but I remind myself that I sold it because it didn't fit my smaller body as well (and I'm not going back into the bigger body!) So yes, I loved the costume, but no, I HATED the original strap placement as a larger chested girl.
For more pictures, there's 1 or 2 more on my website (ignore how woefully out of date it is, please- we're working on that!) Amara Middle Eastern Dance

I've read on other threads that a lot of dancers have changed the strap configuration on this style to regular halter. I don't love the original strap placement either, although I've never tried one on.

That bra looks very sturdy to me. I don't think it would be a problem. Nice costume by the way!

Wow, I really like the way it's constructed because it's different. Good to know that it's difficult to wear. I'll stay away from this now.

Hi, all. This costume looks beautiful with Amara's modification, at the link above. If anyone has other photos of this costume with modified strap placement, would you please post them? I still love everything about it but the straps, and I'd like to see how you've made it wearable for you. Thanks!

Maybe you could add clear over-the-shoulder straps and keep the original straps, it is a beautiful design.

Thanks, Dunyah! That's what Dahlal recommends for sizes over 36D. They run them from the outside of the cup to the existing neck strap. I don't love the look of clear straps on their own, but do you think they'd be pretty on this style with jewels or beading added?

Re: "Enchantment" by Pharaonics?
I have two of these "Enchantment" bra and belt sets and first, the folks at Dahlal told me that this bra is a shallow demi-cup and advised me to go up a cup size. I ordered a 38D and honestly, could have done 36DD. Support was not the real problem as long as the cup size was sufficient, because the side straps are wide, closed up and very sturdy. But the extreme V strap on front of bra was not flattering on me; crowded my girls. So, on my green/gold set I simply converted the V strap to a regular halter type strap by moving each strap to edge of top of cup - making sure they are angled and in correct position is important so cups fit right and don't gape!
The white iris set I decided to keep the V straps in front because they are very "retro glam" looking. However, I softened and opened up the V by tacking down each strap a couple of inches more along on each side of cup with strong button thread than they were.
I have danced in both costumes and support isn't an issue as I've mentioned before as long as you order at least a cup size larger than you normally would in say, a Pharonics Great Loop bra/belt set and are handy with a needle and button thread.Last edited by Nisima; 02-19-2012 at 01:16 PM. I still love that costume. It looks like it'd work fabulously for my droopy boobies.

Re: "Enchantment" by Pharaonics?
I am a big fan of adding a second set of straps in the back from the back of the neck band to the chest band. A la Mdm Noussa. The straps take a lot of the weight off the neck and transfer it to the chest strap. Because they are in the back they don't have to "exactly" match the costume--just same color fabric with same color bead/sequins. Similar to the support of X back but easier to get into and out of.
