    source for fuschia bugle beads

I am having the hardest time finding fuschia bugle beads (size 3 or 2x7mm). I've checked Cartwright's, Shipwreck Beads, FireMountain, Ebay and various other websites.

Does anyone know a good source for fuschia bugle beads, preferably silver lined, but I'll take what I can get. Not looking for any other shade of pink, just fuschia or maybe magenta.

Or if someone has some and is willing to let me buy them, please let me know!

    Thanks :)

Hi Dinah, so are you looking for these bead "tubes"? I have some but they are not quite fushia lined, more like fushia to burgundy iridescent.
I used them on this selfmade costume

Best shop in Germany for beads and sequins I found is 1A-Kurzwaren , they have some hotpink beads: 1A-Kurzwaren - 18 Gramm Glasstifte 6x1 mm A50-54 that would match your description the best and beads in some more shades of pink.
I think we should do a sewing session together ;-)

Thanks for the lead, Sabrina. Hopefully, they don't have a minimum international order or overcharge me for shipping. I'll check it out.

Sha-ri, I'm going to keep looking for a little bit because I'm still waiting for the last of the fabric to arrive, and I'm not going to start beading until I have everything assembled. I think it's a great idea to get together. Our babies can play with each other, and hopefully give us a little bit of time to sew :)

I've noticed that you can't get pre-made Egyptian fringe in fuschia. Now that I think of it, does Pharaonics even use fuschia fringe that is silver lined? I've only seen them use the hot-pink lined clear or a lighter shade of pink.

fuschia is a hard color for beads- when you see a fuschia glass bead, chances are it's painted or dyed, and it's not colorfast. Try to test before you buy!

I can totally second that! I had a fushia costume I made myself and had the hardest time finding fushia beads for the beadwork and to make fringes from. Found some but when I was beading the bra and belt I found that my fingers got fushia and pink spots and the beads lost color and became more like orange.
So if you find some beads rub them a bit in your fingers. If they are not colorfast the sweat on your fingers will bring the color off.

I finally ended up with red beads with a rainbow effect on like http://www.mittelalterborte.de/bilder-gross/2689_0.jpg - they don't loose color and due to the irridescent effect they work well with fushia.

yep, that's the problem I'm running into. The fuschia beads I've found look painted, and that's not gonna fly for me. I found a candy pink that's silver lined and should blend in well with the fuschia sequins.

Another color that's just about impossible to find in bugle beads is a rich purple, no rainbow effect. Any leads on that one?

Difficult. The only time I found purple beads silver lined they turned out looking a bit brownish when I got them - no nice rich purple at all. You can see them on this costume http://www.olafheeg.de/SHARI/galerie...eim_2004_3.jpg there are fringes of them on the right of the belt, next to the golden fringes.
I found them here Beadreaming "Here are the beads" - they still have purple silver lined beads, go to seedbeads then 10/0 transparent silver lined, the second from the top. It's years ago I bought mine so this will be a different lot, they might turn out nicer.

Re: source for fuschia bugle beads

A vendor told me years ago that she wouldn't stock purple costumes because the beads never held up. I'm wondering if that is because whatever chemical combination they use to get purple glass is either too pale and amethyst-y or that dull, muddy purple instead of the regal, plum color people associate with the name. Purple seems to be an odd color. You can never get good a good dye on purple easter eggs, either--the red and blue always separate out.

I have seen bright pink and fuchsia seed beads, and don't know why you couldn't get those same colors on bugles. It does seem like the light red with iris finish is probably going to be your best bet, unless you want to mix fuchsia seed beads with silver bugle beads or something.

I am a belly dancer that makes belly dance costumes.

I have tried making fuschia costumes and the colors dont stay. I have checked with supplier and they said even the best grade japan beads fuschia bugles, seed beads won't last. I am still trying to source for alternative.

There's some problem with the purple beads as well.

For dark purple, you can use the multicolor beads that are of purplish tone. It matches quite well and the color doesn't comes off that easily.
