Thread: Best makeup sealant?

What's your favorite makeup sealant to use for stage and/or for everyday wear? I had never used one until a classmate let me borrow hers for our recital. I liked that one quite a bit, but I'd like to know what brands and formats are the most popular around here.

I know mac fix + is quite popular for every day use. you could also try benefit she laq. i haven't tried either of these as am not really in need of a sealant, i'm just a makeup geek chiming in with a couple of suggestions for you to research!

I love makeup 4ever's mist n fix (or something like that)... it hydrates the skin and keeps makeup intact for everyday and stage wear.

I have tried SheLaq, and it's a bit too heavy for my taste. Its name is indicative - it's more like a layer of shallac. I have the Makeup Forever waterproof eyeshadow liquid (not sure what it's called exactly), and like that a whole lot better - and, in line with Dinah's recommendation, I am happy with everything from that brand that I have tried.

I know that some people love the Ben Nye spray sealant.

I use the Ben Nye spray and love it. Not to heavy. Doesn't taste bad so you can spray it on your lipstick too.

The makeup lady at my salon recommended basic stage translucent powder :-)

I used to seal with powder but as I am getting older the powder just accentuates fine lines. Spray doesn;t.
