I loooooove their black gel liner! It's the best liner I have ever used and it doesn't sting my eyes like liquid liner. I also have the 88 warm palette and it's great! I'm drooling over the shimmer palette and sum funkier liner colors like gold next ;-)

I'm glad to hear the gel liners are good, I just ordered a white one. It is so hard to find a good white liner and I usually just end up scratching the corner of my eyes to get one in place .w.:

I just bought the metallic 88 and shimmer 88 palettes and the quick hand test was impressive. When I put it on this weekend it was AMAZING. Just a little dab will do ya and it stayed on with no issues for nearly 12 hours. I wore browns, beiges, and golds (with a bit of black for smokey eye look) and I put blues on my friend (wow those blues were amazing!) Best dang investment I have ever made in makeup next to the UD eyeshadow primer potion.

If you Coastal Scents fans have not tried their silica powder yet, you need to! I had yet to find a powder I like; all of them, even high-end Bare Essentials and whatnot, always look too heavy and fake on me and somehow make me look older. But I decided to try the Coastal Scents one because it is reportedly like MUFE High Definition powder, and I am glad I did. It doesn't feel heavy, look cakey or fakey, and makes your skin look like velvet.

Sorry, that sounds like an ad for the company, but I swear I'm just stoked because I found a powder I actually like that makes my skin look better with it instead of worse!

You found face powder at a web site URL for cheap insurance via a supposed JPG link that redirects to other sites? I see from another post that they also sell synthetic hair at the same three links!

    Reported.

Do any of you use their micas and glitter powders? I haven't tried those yet so am checking around for reviews. I think these are meant to be added to or over regular eyeshadows? How about wetting them and using as eyeliner?

Coastal Scents: Makeup Ingredients - Make Your Own

Speaking of wetting them, I heard awhile back about how you can make a "mixing medium" like MAC's but I didn't get around to trying it. Truthfully I'm not really sure what a "mixing medium" is for. Is it something that could be used to make these glitters and micas more usable?

Hi! I love Coastal Scents though sometimes some of their products are not as sparkly as hoped. The glitters I would say are a little dull though their sterling silver glitter (not to be used near eyes) and fairy dusts lines are standard glitter sparkle level plus are safer. What I really love from them is their mirage powders. They come in gold, blue, violet and red though violet is more pink and red more violet. The gold is out of this world and I use it over my shadows and as a body glitter. It lasts through out the night and a little goes super far. I would recommend those over their regular glitters.

Their micas and pigment powders are similar to MAC. I apply them with a wet brush when I want to do something really crazy with my eyes and have very vibrant colors. Such as a eye that goes from white yellow orange red or white pink purple violet yellow. But if you are wanting something more elegant or subtle these may not work well for you.

The idea behind all their micas and powders is that you can mix them with a mixing medium, which would dull the color a bit, allow you to add glitter and give you more durability. But I dance in the Tropics many times outdoors and I find that just using a wet brush is good enough and if I want glitter I just layer it while the pigment is still wet. Take time to practice and experiment and you will find what works for you.

Also, they do have sample sizes that are pretty cheap and usually are more than enough for the crazy colors you may want for one costume. I buy tons of samples and if I love it I buy a bigger one.

    Have fun!
