Thread: Only Slightly OT: Need suggestions on a shade of purple

Hi y'all...this is slightly OT in that it isn't for a bellydance costume but for a burlesque number. My stage name is Black Orchid and I'm working on a "signature number" for a show in July. The problem I'm having is in seeking out a shade of purple that works with my skin but also reads as "orchid" as opposed to lilac or violet. Should I go dark or more towards magenta? My original costume was burgundy with some fuschia & lilac....

Well, with a name like "Black Orchid" I would almost expect Auberge. You could then highlight it with fushcia (or magenta) and teal.

Just a thought.
