Thread: upper hip?

can someone explain this measurement to me in detail? lol
I've been using the belly dance store instructions but it's just not matching up with what I see from other people and their pics, just want to make sure I'm doing it right.

For me, I measure the upper hip as the top of the skirt or belt. On my body, I measure where the top of the skirt sits on me. Don't know if that's "right," but it's what I do.

Me too...

The upper hip is where line of your costume is placed. Lower hip is around where your hip bone "juts" out. It's to get the curve of your hip in the measurement with those figure hugging spandex skirts. A lot of women have a wider lower hip than upper or "high" hip, some it is about the same.

to say it another way: high/upper hip is around the top of your hip bones/illiac crests low hip is just above your leg/hip joint and measures the full part of your booty (depending on your booty shape)

in this picture E is the waist, F is the high hip, and G is the low hip ^_^
