Thread: Should I buy one of these costume? Help me decide!

Hi all! I am looking for a glitzy costume but I can't justify spending much since I'm not dancing professionally or very often right now. I was looking at some costumes from bellydancestore.biz and picked a few out that I really like AND are inexpensive.

The designs I am looking at are:

Desert Swirl:

Nile Flower

I am petite, very fair skinned with dark brown hair. I think the style will look good on me because I've noticed bulky costumes make me look shorter, blockier and heavier. Something like Melodias and a simple top make me look taller, thin and curvy. I tend to look good in gold and copper although I can wear silver as well, so I am leaning toward Desert Swirl in Gold. But I really like the Nile Flower design as well.

Opinions?

I vote gold or red desert swirl. The nile flowers look really nice, but I think silver and the light purple would wash you out. The gold desert swirl looks really color rich and you could wear it to a lot of different events.

I vote for the red desert swirl because I think red suits you.

I like the Nile Flower in Silver

Gold Desert Swirl!!

I think you would look great in red! (and I love the veil in your photo!)

I would be careful with the silver colour, if you are pale. The silver costume is nice, but it could wash you out (as sbody mentioned before).
The same with purple costume - because it's not "true" purple, but more levander. It's very light. I would pick the same costume, but in really rich nice purple colour.

From these 4 costumes, I would vote for red or gold, just because of the colour. Nile flowers are nice, but in different colour for you.

Heh I should have included a poll! So far it's looking like red or gold. I do think those are the best colors, but I like the Nile Flower design more. I wish they had that in a color that I know suits me but they don't.

You have about the same coloring as I do---I just got a Nile Flower in pink and highly recommend it! I liked the purple
too and would have gotten on if they had my size. And since your pic is in a
shade of red, why not go for something
in a different color?
I took a chance on the Nile Flower and was pleasantly surprised--it's well made and prettier than the pics.

Try to ask Bellydancestore - maybe a new shippment is on the way and they will have more colours on the stock. The Nile Flower design is realy much nicer than Desert Swirl - imho :)

I recently bought a Nile Flower in fuchsia, and am very very pleased with it. It IS well-made and prettier than the pics! I have similar coloring (dark hair, not too dark skin), and am short, short-waisted, and curvy but not plus-sized. I find the style to be extremely flattering to me.

I think the NIle Flowers are prettier, and have a bit better construction, than the desert swirls.

Wow tough decision...

Maybe I should wait until the next batch of costumes and see if any better colors come in.

Then again... can't go wrong with red and gold

I think the Gold desert swirl looks richer than the red and just seems like a more expensive costume. But I do agree that the Nile Flowers costume has better styling. I have fair skin and dark hair and I think the silver would look fine on you because it is dark not light . However, if they get in a teal colored Nile Flowers it would look amazing on you!!!!
