    Strappy

I'm undecided if i'm going to bead the straps of the bra i'm making. it might come down to time as i need it for a june show. i'd be interested in seeing other ways you decorated your bra straps. I want to see it all beads, sequins, ribbon, help need ideas...lol. i don't think i want to leave them plain.

Message from the "Cheater's Department." I've used this kind of stuff very successfully to make bra straps and waist straps. It's sturdy and has a fabric lining on the back. I cut it to length, put glue on the ends to keep the beading from unravelling, sew it on. I have a least an extra inch projecting inside the bra or belt on the ends and stitch through all of that.
    Gold Beaded Trim

This is, by the way, a wonderful vendor for beaded trim, sequin appliques, etc. I've bought from her many times and always completely happy, including super-prompt shipping She sells from e-bay as well as this website.

Another thought is to do things in stages. Make the straps and cover the center with sequence by the yard. Then after you have danced in it the initial time, you can continue working on the straps, with or without the aforementioned sequence.

Check out various trims and ribbon. If you find a nice metallic ribbon that compliments your costume, that would easy to stitch to grosgrain ribbon for strength. I also saw a lady lay down trim on both edges of the strap, then over the top in the center (so the whole strap was entirely covered). It actually looked pretty good! Those are both easy.
