Acne scars
For those of you who have (or used to have) acne scars, what have you found to be the most useful treatments? I'd love to help them vanish or at least fade if I can. Mine are mostly darkish spots, neither raised nor pitted. I'd really love to get rid of them if possible, especially since I have such a hard time finding truly effective concealers that match my skin tone.

Re: Acne scars
ime beware of lasers. they can remove the scar, but you may trade for a white spot where you no longer have any pigment :(
perhaps a night cream with aha or another peeling agent to slowly decrease their visibility? some people have good results with dermabrasion and/or chemical peels
hope you find something that works for you. i'd say to approach treatments with caution and start with the more mild things first. this is your face after all!Last edited by sabrinabellydancer; 05-14-2010 at 01:43 PM.

Yeah, not to mention the fact that lasers are EXPENSIVE! Gods, I'd love to find some kind of an at-home dermabrasion or peel kit that actually did something noticeable for my skin.

Re: Acne scars
I'd suggest a consultation with a good dermatologist. Someone who specializes in treating skin conditions is going to be able to recommend something for your exact problem much more effectively than most folks here. Skin treatments usually have to take into account more than one factor (how sensitive your skin is, how oily/dry, how much sun you get on a daily basis, whether you're likely to stick with a particular treatment regimen, etc.) on top of whatever specific issue you've come for treatment about, and there can be a lot of trial and error involved in finding the right solution. Any reputable doctor isn't going to recommend a major procedure without trying a more conservative approach first, and they have a lot more tools in their toolbox than the OTC skincare aisle of the local drugstore.

I agree with Tourbeau: go to a dermatologist. Get as much bang for your buck as you can.
