Thread: UGH!!!!

Minor rant here:
Why, why why Don't Hanan bra and belt sets come in smaller sizes?????? Or maybe I just have not seen them....but EVERY time I see one, the belt is at least 40". They are two pieces so I once bought one, but there was too much overlap/looked silly and the back piece was too wide, it even hung out the bottom of the front piece. The back may have even looked sillier than the front-proportionately my lack of assets looked so lost:( So can anyone point me to where there might be smaller sizes-or are they all made this size with the thought that they can still fit a variety of sizes. I'm on the petite side, but not tiny-32.5" upper, 36 booty. I've just wanted one for so long, they are fun and colorful!

I have often wondered this too. I usually just skim right past the Hanans in the Dahlal catalog since I know they would never come in my size. PS, we have basically the same hip size :)

I have a Hanan dress, while it fits well, the bra band is about a foot too long!

I'm sure you could order a custom one to your size though.

why don't you try a custom order through her website email addy? just send her a photo of what you want and give her your measurements. I'm sure she could do it for you as I've seen teeny tiny Asian dancers in her costumes and they look wonderful.

Yes, I've owned a lycra costume and it fit very nicely...its just the bra and belts that seem to be made to a standard larger size. I think my troupe might be placing customs through her, so we'll see:)

I've noticed the same thing and it annoys the living crap out of me, too. And it's not just Hanans. Seems like this is true of mid-priced bedlahs anywhere you shop, whether it's Dahlal, BDStore, Rahana's, or my local vendor who buys the stuff from Egypt.

People wonder why I spend such obscene amounts of money to get stuff custom made, but there's really no other choice ,r:;

I thought there was a huge market for BD in Japan and Korea. Maybe the Egyptian designers are sending all their tiny stuff over there. (On that note, maybe I should move there. LOL)

Yep, this makes me sad too. And re custom orders, I placed one in jan to collect in person in march - it was never made. Apparently they were going to start making it in may, but I haven't heard anything from her in months, so I doubt it will ever arrive :(

Oh no on the custom order thing:(!!! So I guess there are a few of us out there that have noticed the same this. I guess unless I do custom I should just give up my quest. Sigh. After I had my son and had the baby weight, it was so easy to find costumes...it has become significantly more difficult. Satin, I can only imagine trying to get something in your size...no wonder you custom order!

Have you tried Belly Dance Costumes | Belly Dance Store.com: Designer Egyptian Costumes at Affordable Prices ? You can search by size and designer there. I know that she has quite a few Hanan's that are between 30-40 hips.
