    Hot-Fix 101

Hi y'all please direct me to the right thread if this has been discussed ad nauseum..I am thinking about sprucing up a cute little tribaret costume I just bought with some AB stones; crystals etc and it seems like hot-fixing rather than sewing would be the way to go. My sewing skills are rudimentary, to put it kindly...and I am ok with a hot glue gun ( ah the joys of pastie-making for burlesque costumes!)

But I don't know much about this process. Is there a specific brand of jewelry/fabric glue to use? And do y'all have links to sellers you like for hot-fixable stones? I don't think I need very much. I'm just feeling out my options before I get rolling.

Hmmm so maybe hotfix isn't what I'm looking for! If I were to glue them on with Gem-tac, is there a kind of stone you'd recommend ( or not) doing that with?

I've had a lot of luck with gluing on most crystal rhinestones (as opposed to acrylic, which I think don't look as nice). Like these:

You might want to do what a lot of designers seem to do and stock up on crystal ABs! They sure add a lot of glitter on any color costume.

I am wondering. How well do hot fix rhinestones hold up? Do they fall off after awhile? Does the glue age and cause dulling or discoloration of the stone. What about if a costume gets wet or damp or if the humidity is high?
