*Pictures* Updated! I *bought* this costume (gulp!)
Belly Dance Costumes | Belly Dance Store.com: gallery
I think I could quite possibly explode with desire right now. I'm so tired of all the same looking costumes, this is so unique and elegant. Hot pink & tangerine are my favorite color combo. I love the draping and the slightly scandalous shape of the bra. Samira wears it well (what doesn't she wear well, LOL) but imagine it hugging a slightly fuller, curvier figure such a mine....ohhhh ohhhh ohhhh. Exploding, exploding with desire.
I just bought a new SIM and am cash poor, but am contemplating going for this. Its risk free, they accept returns. Oh...talk me down off the edge ladies, or go ahead and push me over. Either way...waaaaaahhhhhhhhh

Re: I *NEED* this costume
Ha! About an hour ago I saw it for the first time and thought, "Wow! I hope someone on Bhuz buys that so I can live vicariously through her, and then maybe buy it from her later." (Have my eyes on something else right now, but LOVE this.)

Yay, can't wait to see it in person. Of course this means you still need a bedlah for Mirage in the fall.

Can't wait to see the pictures. It's truly gorgeous on!
.... edited to add...
this might sound funny coming from me- but the pictures don't do it justice at all! LOL. You're really going to swoon when you take it out of the box... AND... even moreso when you put it on. It moves beautifully!Last edited by SamiraShuruk; 06-19-2010 at 09:30 AM.

Re: I *bought* this costume (gulp!)
wow- that is one of the prettiest, most innovative pieces I've seen in a while- I couldn't pull it off, but what do you need to tip you over the edge at this point? I think I've got a feather around somewhere, will that be sufficient?
edit- sorry carried away by the costume & didn't see you done did it already- I second the picture request!

I don't have the requisite anatomy for the top, but I sure do love that costume. The skirt is to die for! Glad you bought it, may it bring you joy!

Re: *Pictures* Updated! I *bought* this costume (gulp!)
Ok. This costume is every bit as amazing, light weight, and comfortable as Samira promised it would be. It was super flattering and got rave reviews from my local crew BUT...I live & dance in Portland Maine. People expect more traditional costumes. It was also too long and the hem was completely unfinished and I have no time for projects on expensive costumes. Ultimately I felt like price-wise I couldn't keep it. It has gone back to Maryland to find a new loving home. But not without some quick pics. The photos are dark because, well I couldn't get someone to take them and its 3:45 a.m.
Here's a link to the full labum of dark, grainy pics (except the shots of the tahtahs, those came out real clear)

Re: *Pictures* Updated! I *bought* this costume (gulp!)
oh, it's very beautiful on you, just breathtaking.
But I understand your reasons for letting it go. I recently got my hands on my dream costume and then had to part with it again, without ever wearing it, because while it suited my body and my taste, it didn't suit the kind of gigs I have.
Glad you at least got to see it up close & try it on, though!

Re: *Pictures* Updated! I *bought* this costume (gulp!)
It's a really beautiful design and I understand the immediate desire for something stand out and different. And that color combination is amazing. I noticed 2 things right away when I saw that costume on thebellydancestore.
The mesh is yellowish. Not a true nude so it really stands out in a strange way. I have experienced this fabric. I bought it on accident in a store with bad lighting. I call it jaundice mesh. Also the amount of selvage along the seams is too much and distracts but you can just cut it off.
I am surprised anyone expects an eman to be hemmed. They are all unfinished. It's kind of a shame.
Too bad this didn't work for you. It's really special! maybe you can tweak the design in future to make it a tad more conservative?
