Thread: How to Make a Tribal Top

I spent a fair amount of time putting together directions on how to make a tribal top from a regular bra for my classmates, and I thought I would be nice and share it here too. Here are the directions. I know there are many ways to convert a lingerie bra into a costume, but this is the technique that works best for me. It takes about a weekend for me to get one ready for decoration.



(Part of the reason I want to share is that my first attempt at a tribal top was a complete disaster. I wasted so much time, and it was just horrible because I had no idea what I was doing. I hope I can prevent a few UBDCs.)

Maybe I don't know enough about tribal, but how is this a tribal top? I thought tribal tops were traditionally tie-back cholis.

On the other hand, that's a very nicely created tutorial. Well done.

many (most?) tribal dancers wear a decorated bra top (usually coin bra or a similar feel) over their choli ... and quite often they are the type that cross and tie in the back like that one rather than having hooks and such in the back like an egyptian or other costume bra might...

If you make one, make sure to share it! My costuming skills have increased greatly since I've started playing on Bhuz and Tribe. I really like it when people share their tips and techniques.
