Thread: Costume ideas needed

Okay I need some ideas. I'm dancing July 1 (canada day) along with a bunch of my class mates. we will be dancing between 11am & 11:30am Now I could wear what i wore to my hafla covered dancing bra fully decorated but i'm wondering if i should bear that much belly or want to during the day. keep in mind it's a big community hall there will be no air conditioning & probably will be a hot day.

this is what i have to work with. i have a purple sparkly overskirt that i love & will wear along with my purple hip scarf (we all wear hip scarves). my veil is purple & green. i also have a purple vest that i could wear.

this is what i'm thinking. i can get a very cute halter style tank for like $20 in black. i need to get new flare pants for class anyways. so black tank, black flare pants, pretty purple sparkly over skirt, purple hip scarf & purple vest that is also sparkly. that's what i'm thinking. anyone else have any other suggestions? hmmm i can probably make some arm bands by july first. i'll post pics of the pieces i have. i need basic dance pieces anyways that i can build onto

That would work. You could also look for a black or purple tie top with short or no sleeves to give you more coverage... could wear it on its own or tie it under the bra. Belly covers and body suits suck in hot weather btw.

Have you discussed this with the person coordinating the event--your teacher or troupe director? Usually they have a creative concept for the performance, and a dancer is responsible for meeting those objectives and coordinating with their troupe-/classmates.

that's another option wear my bra under the vest. yup that would work too.

Okay this is what I wore on Saturday to dance in a restaurant.



The items i want to keep & wear is the over skirt, hip scarf, & veil. Going to get new flare pants, what i'm not sure of is wear my bra (in pic) with my vest or a black halter style tank.

What do you guys think?
